Know your luck from World of Feng Shui Master Marites Allen in SM Supermalls

Marites Allen interacts with shoppers

Every Chinese New Year season, people look to feng shui to push their luck for the year ahead. They buy round shaped fruits, wear red, rearrange furniture, and everything that has feng shui vibes. But does feng shui really bring luck and good fortune?

“World of Feng Shui” master Marites Allen said yes – and no – by telling her own story.
Coming from a poor family, Marites worked her way up to where she is now. She is the only Filipino to be dubbed as a Master of Feng Shui by the International Feng Shui Association.
“I came from a poor family and married, had kids and separated at a young age. I found out about feng shui through my foreign bosses’ wives during my stint at an Australian company in Cebu,” Marites stated. “But my obsession for it strengthened when my mother passed away. I started to question the universe, for why would something so tragic happen to someone who was good and God-fearing? From that point on, I became focused and started practicing feng shui much more seriously.”

Leaving everything she knew to start fresh in Manila, the odds were definitely in Marites’ favour as she landed a stream of jobs that provided well for her children. As her career blossomed, she found herself looking for another shot at love. She then started to activate all the right auras by wearing all the right clothes and rearranging her life to point toward her “love” direction. She eventually found herself with a pool of suitors, ending up with a British national who is now her husband.

“Feng shui alone did not bring me all this good fortune; I’ve also had to work hard to get to where I am. But I feel like I have come full circle with my journey through it,” Marites quips, remembering the first time her husband brought her to England. “I opened a guide book on feng shui and saw a photo of President Fidel Ramos and the 500 peso bill, with an article about him following a feng shui master’s advice about the landscape in Malacañan. During that time, the economy was booming. It amazed me to see this article in London, of all places. I took it as a sign that feng shui definitely works, seeing as how my personal life and my country were all brought to good standing by it.”

At present, Marites is blessed with an elite clientele who consult her. However, her string of tours in various SM malls this February proves that feng shui is for everyone. With all her good fortune, she doesn’t have to go out of her way to go around SM malls – yet she does. In fact, she has been doing tours and giving free consultations for SM patrons across the country since 2008, providing people with the same services she does her VIP clientele.

Marites Allen with the shoppers

“I feel driven to keep doing this because it gives people something to hope and work hard for. It’s really about touching lives more than anything,” Marites shared.

“I keep working with SM because I feel their sincere commitment to the public. They want to provide the public with this, and I am someone who is able to give it to them. It is such an honor to be given the opportunity to do this because not everyone can,” Marites said.

Apart from her string of SM mall tours, paid VIP consultations and TV guestings, Marites also channels her practice through Frigga, her own line of feng shui-embedded clothing and accessories. With all the great things her fortune has brought, it wouldn’t hurt to come see her soon and bring to life your own good luck. Catch her in the following SM malls.

Need a wingman this Valentine's Day? Takatack and PayMaya will get you the best gifts in town

Pretty sure you might be wondering what to give to your loved ones right? Most especially this on red letter day, which is Valentine's Day, when everyone feels so in love and willing to give love!

Voyager Innovations and PayMaya Philippines,
the digital innovations units of PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), have the ultimate wingmen for them.

Shopping discovery platform Takatack and digital payments mobile app PayMaya can help Filipinos ace the two most challenging parts of this special day - gifts and dates.

Takatack has all the traditional gifts you may want to give your special someone, such as chocolates and sweets. And with over 400,000 products, the site should also be your go-to destination if you want to choose a more unique gift, such as a new camera for the budding photographer in your life or a baking set for your favorite chef.

Rebecca Ricalde, Assistant Vice President for Digital Commerce at Voyager Innovations, believes that the wide range of products at Takatack makes it the best place to choose your Valentine’s Day gift. “Let’s face it: Gift-giving, especially on Valentine’s day, is not easy. You want to choose the right gift for your special someone, but it’s a tall task to run around a crowded mall, shuffling from store to store. With close to half a million products, Takatack makes this process easier by allowing you to find the perfect item, all just a click away,” said Ricalde.

Once you find the right gift, you can have it delivered directly to your special someone for a one-of-a-kind, doorstep surprise, which Ricalde feels is a nice touch for the occasion.“Much of what makes Valentine’s Day exciting is anticipation. You look forward to February 14, knowing that you’ll be able to spend quality time with your special someone.

Sending them a gift via Takatack
communicates this excitement to them in a way that nothing else can. A gift says that you are thinking of them and are counting the hours until you can celebrate the holiday together,” she said.

Takatack also feels that romance doesn’t need to be expensive. Beginning February 1st and ending on the day of Valentine’s itself on February 14th, Takatack will offer a selection of special gifts from partner merchants that come with a discount. As these have all been curated by Takatack, customers will find it easier to choose a great gift for their special someone. The categories in this curated selection include:

For Him, For Her, and Love Wins.
Takatack will also offer several other promos. From February 1 to 12, a coupon code will allow users to get 500 pesos off a minimum purchase of 2000 pesos, so long as the items are fulfilled by Takatack.

From February 1 - 5 and again from February 8 to 14, a coupon code will be revealed at 2:14 each day and expire at 2:14 the next day that will give new users a one-time 15% off discount for items fulfilled by Takatack for a maximum discount of 2000 pesos.

Once you’ve ordered the perfect gifts from Takatack, you still need to actually celebrate Valentine’s day on Sunday, February 14. Unfortunately, many of the one-of-a-kind experiences you would want to share with your special someone on that day may require a credit card, and fewer than 5% of Filipinos own one.

What, then, is the hopeful lover supposed to do?
For them, there is PayMaya. Launched late last year, PayMaya is a free digital payments mobile app that gives you a unique card number so that you can pay online without a credit card.

Getting PayMaya is easy, fast, and FREE. To get your online payment details, all you need to do is
download the PayMaya app, which is available on both the App Store and Google Store, and sign up with your mobile number. You are then issued a Visa card number, its expiration date, and a security code.

PayMaya functions like a prepaid card - you can load it up at any 7-Eleven, SM Business Center or
Robinson’s Business Center and then shop online or sign up to subscriptions wherever VISA is accepted.

In addition to serving as a free online payment app, PayMaya also offers a physical card that you can use to pay at brick-and-mortar stores wherever Visa is accepted. PayMaya is powered by VISA and is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to ensure all your transactions are secure.

You could, for example, take your Valentine’s Day date to watch a concert that you booked on
TicketWorld, before ending the evening at your home, ordering delivery from foodpanda and watching a romantic comedy on recent Philippine arrival, Netflix.

Of course, you could splurge even further and choose to book seats on Philippine airlines and a stay at an exotic AirBNB in another city or country even, all courtesy of PayMaya. Now how’s that for a Valentine’s day to remember?

ABOUT TAKATACK.COM
Fueled by Voyager Innovations, Takatack.com aggregates many trusted online stores, including some that are among the largest, like the Rocket Internet-backed Zalora, together with the thousands of merchants who established their own online shops through the TackThis! platform.

Takatack.com also offers some of the top brands, including CLN-Celine, VMV Hypoallergenics, Zen
Nutrients, ShopTV by the Home Shopping Network, Philips, Digits Trading, Hickok Leather Brand, Candy Corner, Happy Socks, Jaybird, Li-Ning, Marshall, and Sassa. The Takatack platform also offers emerging brands like Straightforward, Fledge Clothing, Ziya, and La Mer Collections.

ABOUT PAYMAYA
PayMaya is a three-in-one financial technology product, including a free online payment app that
consumers can use to shop online, a physical card that can be used to pay at any Visa-accepting brick-and-mortar establishment, and a BEEP card that commuters can use for their fare on the LRT / MRT.

Cong. Leni Robredo Story in MMK this February 6

Cong. Leni Robredo and family

MMK official trailer of Leni Robredo story

For all of us, we've only known Mrs. Leni Robredo as the widow of the late Secretary of DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) Mr. Jesse Robredo, both hailed from Camarines Sur in Bicol region.

When Mr. Jesse Robredo had met his ill-fated plane accident somewhere in the sea near Masbate last August of 2012, I've come to follow his story which seems to be really amazing.

Come March, 2013, ABS-CBN had featured the life story of the late DILG Secretary. He was portrayed by Jericho Rosales while Ms. Leni Robredo was played by Kaye Abad.

From my point of view, basing from what I've seen on MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) Cong. Leni's character was tough, family-oriented like her husband, firm on her decisions and goal oriented, maybe because she's also a lawyer by profession.

This Saturday, February 6, 2016 we will now witness Congresswoman Leni Robredo's life story, this time, the primary focus is on her si we'll get to know her even more as she enters another chapter in her life as Liberal Party's Vice Presidential candidate this May 2016 Philippine Elections.

Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco filed a complaint against SSS officials

KBL Presidential candidate Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco filed has filed a complaint against the SSS officials last January 18, 2016 at the Ombudsman

A very timely and generous act of concern from KBL Presidential candidate Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco otherwise known as "Tito Boboy," has occurred last January 18, 2016, Monday at the office of the Ombudsman when he filed a complaint against the SSS officials.

Here's the partial statement that was indicated in his complaint:

Pensionadong Api.

For Year 2014, our Social Security System (SSS) paid 116 million pesos to its 34 Commissioners, Executive Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents, compared to its more than 2 million Pensioners!
In 2014, Payments given to Pensioners were only 102 billion pesos, compared to salaries and bonuses of its top 34 Executives who were paid 116 million pesos, or .09% thereof, as enumerated hereunder.
I am specifically charging the nine (9) persons, including John Does and Jane Does that I related in my aforesaid complaint of January 18, 2016: for Graft & Corruption, financial abuse of their positions without any sense of propriety nor conscience, and outright dishonesty;

I am also charging those others of them included in the following list enumerated hereunder (which I opted to withheld) with the same aforesaid crimes evidenced by the following information.

And in connection with this also, Tito Boboy's camp has also released this article:

Sobrang Sakim Sa Sistema
Kabalikat mo sa Kamatayan

Bankrupted by Corruption, our Social Security System (SSS) is a milk-ing cow that is skin and bones, its four legs stretched out to the sky, in abject surrender. Its tail does not move.
Truth faces us now, instead of later, when it will be a more sinister and deadly time bomb.

Like cancer, truth finds its way out in the worst of times.
Truth is truth, and it cannot be hidden. So too, it carries its own
urgency that cannot be postponed. What’s there is there.
What’s gone is gone.

The government’s responsibility is to cover the Social Security Fund with a sovereign guarantee. It must infuse subsidy and help employers to carry the burden of providing workers a meaningful retirement benefit.

Opportunists from Congress and those other do-gooders who want to grab public limelight and look good for the camera and the press, please beware, your look-good posture will be gravely resented by Aquino, because you are doing this at his expense. Simply put, you are embarrassing him, putting him to shame to pay up with money he simply cannot obtain.

It is beyond the ability of President Nonoy Aquino to provide a P2,000 across the board increase to SSS members simply because if he does so, at this point in time, the SSS will have to close down as a casualty before the end of Aquino’s term.

On the other hand, if Aquino postpones or diminishes it for whatever reason or alibi, there will still be one year more before the SSS Fund dries up after Aquino’s term, thereby passing-on the catastrophe a few months into the next administration.

President Aquino said SSS funds would dry up by 2029 if the P2,000 pension increase would be implemented. THIS IS MISLEADING. SSS WILL DRY UP IN THREE MONTHS IF THE ADDITIONAL P2,000 INCREASES ARE GIVEN, NOT IN 2029!
AND IF NOT GIVEN, SSS WILL DRY UP IN ONE YEAR UNDER THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION!

There are 32 million SSS workers in the private sector that are in im-minent danger of being cut-off from the retirement lifeline and this will tumble down our whole economy, like Humpty-Dumpty’s great fall.

Unless something is done to arrest the bleeding, SSS contributors — workers and employers — need support to remain viable. But gov-ernment has no available money to subsidize the fund because it is overspending way beyond its means. And if it prints more money, there will be a galloping inflation on prices of the most basic goods and essential services, so help us God.

So, where will the government get the money, when already trillions of pesos are carted away as dole-outs for their plundered Priority Devel-opment Assistance Program (PDAF), Development Acceleration Pro-gram (DAP), Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs and an ava-lanche of election expenses for the administration’s electoral 2016 candidates?

SSS losses have accumulated to their worst ever. According to a Senior SSS Investment Executive, the grim reality for our pensioners.

--End--

On my opinon, Whatever this issue will lead us, and whatever outcome of the brave action that Tito Boboy has undertaken, I just hope and pray that, if there were real corrupt odficials and responsible for the losses not only in the SSS department but of the pensioners and their families as well, who also rely on the pensions they receive, may those guilty people be given due punishments and that the deserving pensioners may also be given the amount they duly deserve. This has been a long overdue issue already.

Let fair justice prevail.

The "Best Pinoy Street Food 2015" finalists were busy preparing before their the cook-off challenge

Only one lucky participant will get to win these life-changing prizes: He/ She can own a food stall at SM Hypermarket rent-free for a year as well as P100,000 pesos worth of prizes including large food packs, ingredients, cooking equipment, etc. courtesy of SM Hypermarket’s Food Service Center; the home of big packs and big savings; and other hotel, restaurant, and catering needs.

Aside from the "Kusina Master," Chef Boy Logro, a crowd of 100 people like students, shoppers, employees, business owners, drivers, etc. and including us, bloggers, had the chance to taste the dishes prepared by the cook-off participants. All the ingredients they've used came from SM Hypermarket, and they also did their shopping under time pressure. As you can see, everything's a challenge for them, even during the cook-off portion per se.
