Daniel Padilla's Birthday Concert at the Big Dome and more!


Daniel "DJ" Padilla, the phenomenal young actor/ heartthrob in today's generation. Creating big waves in local showbiz industry with another teen star, the beautiful face, Kathryn Bernardo. ABS-CBN takes pride in these two unique and undeniably famous young stars of today with their tandem being tagged as "KathNiel." Seems like Daniel really got his good looks, charisma and talent from his family, the Padilla clan. 


DJ is like the boy in every girl's dream. Actually he had also captured the hearts of the women in all generation, that's why I really feel lucky enough having known him personally and taking the chance to know him more. In my four times of meeting up with him, DJ is very much consistent with his being so cool and humble. At his very tender age, he speaks of the truth, his words were spoken out from his heart and mind. I may say that his simple, candid and cool attitude really embeded him where he is right now. Just like his Uncle Robin Padilla, he is indeed a "man of few words," with a powerful and irresistible appeal, the "charisma" that captivates almost everyone. 


During one of my up close interviews with DJ, he narrated to me that when he guested in Vice Ganda's "Gandang Gabi Vice," show, in ABS-CBN, he was asked to sing. And from then on, DJ wasn't only known as an actor but as a young singer who had launched two albums already. The first one, was his self-titled album released just last year under Star Records and that debut album earned a double platinum award. Following the success of his first album, "DJP," Daniel's second album was released early this month that was selling like a "hot cake!" Would you believe, after its release, it already garnered a double platinum status having sold 40,000 copies in just two days! Whoaaa! The funky, upbeat and catchy "Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat," is also included in his second album, DJ's entry to the "2013 Himig Handog: P-Pop Love Songs" Competition. 



Last April 26, Daniel had turned 18, and during his birthday concert blog conference with us, he vowed to visit ChildHope Asia Philippines. For DJ, having his first major concert is a big leap in his career. According to him, before, he had never imagined singing in front of many people. He was so excited to share the concept of his birthday concert most especially the formation of the stage. 

In all his busy schedules, appointments, engagements and everything, here's what DJ has to say to his fellow teeners, followers and supporters, "Basta huwag lang iisipin 'yung trabaho, basta isipin mo lang, napapagod ka pero may nagagawa kang maayos, di'ba, ineenjoy mo at the same time, huwag lang trabaho ng trabaho. Kasi dun ka maiinis eh, dun ka magsasawa, dun ka maba-bad trip, dun ka aayaw kapag iniisip mo na trabaho lang 'yung ginagawa mo, isipin mo parati na kahit nagtatrabaho ka, nag-eenjoy ka, may nagagawa kang mabuti." 

After having acquired a new car for himself, a 2013 Dodge Challenger, DJ admitted that, he's now planning to put up a house for his family. Being an adventurous person, he said, "Financially, syempre planado 'yan. Di naman pwedeng may pera ako ngayon, gastusin ko agad, ano ang mangyayari bukas? Di naman pwede 'yung ganun, kasi pag sa buhay ko, parang gusto ko s'yang gawing adventure, ayoko ng planado."

This summer season, DJ admitted taking shower four times a day to be refreshed. Aside from his Uncle Robin Padilla, another great persona for him that he wanted to follow and look up to is the late Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ), which he felt so regretful for not having met him before personally. He also wishes to meet his idol and another source of inspiration, Paul McArtney. DJ's fave Beatles song is "Something." He prefers cold softdrinks rather than water. 

In his present status in life, was there anything that he wanted to ask for? "Sana dire-diretso lang 'to. Huwag namang hanggang ngayon lang, sana hanggang matagal na matagal pa. Huwag biglang tumigil," he answered.

A DAY FOR DISCOVERY AND EXPLORATION AT BABY BLAST YEAR 4!

As more and more diversions are created for children to engage in, how can we help in making sure a child gets the best kind of learning at his or her most crucial stages? Kids nowadays are spending less and less time outdoors, having been exposed to gadgets and other forms of technology even as infants. But recent studies show that children, especially those aged 3 and below, who play outdoors regularly grow up happier, healthier, and stronger!



Since 2010, Baby Blast has spread awareness that enjoyable, unforced learning, as well as hands-on play and parent-child bonding during the age of 0-3 years is critical in laying down the foundation for the child’s future learning and holistic development. Every year, attendance to the event grows in number, as more families enjoy the fun activities and learn from the featured topics.



Outbox Media Production Agency, in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS), once again celebrated the wonder of life at its early stages! EHS advocates, teachers, experts and parents together with their kids, gathered last April 14, 2013, from 10am-8pm at the Trinoma Activity Center for “Baby Blast Year 4: Discover, Create, Imagine and Explore!” a one-day event highlighting the importance of early childhood education.




This year’s event was hosted by Toni Aquino of DZMM, Jackie Go of gojackiego.com, pre-school teacher and TV host, Nikki Veron Cruz, celebrity moms Snooky Serna and Jenny Miller, sportscaster Anthony Suntay and journalist Peach Mascarinas, together with the tandem of Anthony and Rossel Taberna. Performances and messages of support for early education were also given by Gail Blanco, Paolo Santos, Patricia Bermudez-Hizon and Tintin Bersola-Babao.



The program was opened by a dance number from talented child singer Pauline Agupitan, together with the Neutron Acrobats and OBM Dancers.



This year’s program highlighted the importance of allowing babies and kids to experience the outdoors and engage in physical activities that can benefit their social, mental, physical and emotional development, given today’s tendency to merely rely on gadgets and technology to keep kids busy.

There were parenting and health talks led by experts and medical practitioners, like Ms. Glenda Derla, Child Welfare Specialist from the DSWD and Dra. Cynthia Cuayo-Juico of the PPS - School Health Committee.


Echo Store owner, Sharon Chua, shared an interesting topic on being a “green mom” or “eco mom”, discussing how kids can become more environmentally conscious and giving a recycling demo called “From Trash to Toys." Life coach Ms. Maricel Moreno-Laraya also gave a talk for parents on “How To Keep A Loving Relationship With Your Partner.” Essential Newborn Care was also tackled by the Consultant of the MMC and CSMC Pediatrics Department, Dra. Lourraine Co, MD, FPPS.

A revival of traditional Filipino outdoor games or “Palarong Pinoy” was also dicussed and demonstrated by TV Host Patty Nuguid-Santos of Buhay Pinoy, promoting the benefits of fun play and interaction for young kids.


On-ground areas like the World of Discovery, Beyond your Imagination, Baby Explorers and Creativity Corner gave kids the chance to play and interact with other kids, browse through books, play with toys, draw with art materials, and get hands-on with the educational gadgets and activities available today.
Contests for the whole family were held before the event, and winners were awarded during the program. Baby Magazine held the “Brilliant Babies Video Contest” where parents sent videos of their babies showing advanced development. The winning entry received a 1-year subscription from Baby Magazine, along with other prizes.

The “We Love the Outdoors Family Contest” gave families a chance to submit their best photo doing a fun, outdoor activity. The winning entry won a family staycation package at the Waterfront Manila Pavilion. Other contests held were the “Design My T-Shirt” art contest where kids submitted their interpretation of this year’s Baby Blast theme. The winning entry became the official Baby Blast event t-shirt design and received art materials and other prizes. For the moms and dads, The Blounge Salon also raffled off a Full Pampering package to give parents a well-deserved treat.

Both kids and parents also joined fun contests from Bye Bye Fever, Rite Med, Refresh Big Sip, Regent, Ferna, Lock & Lock, Bibbo Hotdog, Bounty Fresh, Uratex, Osihi, and Magnolia Frozen Delights. Lots of prizes were given away!

The event’s official print partner, Baby Magazine, also held a Search for the Cutest Babies attending the event. Babies were awarded at various times during the program, and all selected babies will be featured in the magazine’s next issue. Pre-schools like Dynamic Recall, Playlab, LinxProvi8, H.A.N.D.S. of Children, Filway Marketing, and First Robotics also presented their EHS Programs for parents who are looking for schools to enroll their kids for the summer or for the next school year. There were also mascot appearances by Ainon Baby, Bibbo Hotdogs, Robby Rabbit, and TJ Hotdogs, much to the kids’ delight!

Cool science experiments by Mad Science captivated the kids in the audience! Diliman Prep School also had their taekwondo team onstage to demonstrate a routine.  Self-defense techniques to stop bullying were also presented by International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF).



Free face painting and kiddie hairstyling was also made available to the event participants courtesy of Outbox Media. Booths and other fun activities wowed everyone, and exciting freebies and loot bags were also given away. It was truly a great day for the whole family!

Timeframe Media Company's New Face...


Timeframe Media Company officially started at the year 2002 by Ateneo de Manila University graduate, RJ Samson humbly nestled in Katipunan Road, Quezon City as audio-video production company.

Extending their services to huge companies like San Miguel Corporation, Mondelez (formerly Kraft), Petron, Magniflex, NutriAsia and among others, Timeframe Media continued to push the envelope challenging itself constantly and surprising its clients with the product the company puts out. "Dugong Buhay" to spice up your afternoon on Kapamilya Gold

Magno "Carlo" J. Caparas, the famous Filipino comic strip creator/ writer turned director and producer had directed the original "Dugong Buhay" movie on 1983 starring the father and son tandem, Ramon Revilla Sr. and Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. based on his own comic series in People's Journal. 



On April 8, 2013, the tv remake of "Dugong Buhay" will be witnessed by the viewing public via its pilot episode on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold starting this Monday, at 3:30 PM, replacing "Paraiso," that starred Jessy Mendiola and Mateo Guidicelli. 

During the newest teleseries' grand presscon, direk Carlo shared his thoughts about the chosen casts for the "Dugong Buhay" tv remake,"Bihira ang mga tao na masasabi mong conscious sila sa proyekto. At nakita n'yo naman ang mga karakter at mga katauhan na gumaganap ngayon, mula kay Lito (Pimentel), kay Christian (Vasquez), kay pareng Ronnie (Quizon) at Ms. Sunshine Cruz, at sa lahat ng narito, nakita ko na, ito na ang babagay sa 'Dugong Buhay' ngayon, kapagka, binigay natin sa ibang artista ngayon ang 'Dugong Buhay,' masasabi ko pang baka maalangan sila, kaya palakpakan natin sila...sila 'yung nababagay na 'Dugong Buhay' characters." 

Direk Carlo consider "Dugong Buhay" a special project for him because it is his tribute for workers who were mistreated by their landlords. He said, "The TV remake of ‘Dugong Buhay’ is a beautiful creation that resulted from preparation, hardwork and remarkable creative talent of the people behind it."

Direk Toto Natividad, the newest Kapamilya Gold tv series' director was so honored having directed direk Carlo's masterpiece he said, "This is a big challenge for me because this is not only about battles and action. ‘Dugong Buhay’ is a tension-filled drama series with a lot of heart." During the presscon, he even complimented the whole cast saying, "Ang maganda sa mga artistang dinidirek ko ngayon, willing eh, willing matuto, willing ibigay ang lahat. Dahil sa kagustuhan nilang mag-deliver, maganda ang kinakalabasan ng kanilang pag-arte at kanilang pagganap."

On the other hand, the very promising and young actor, Ejay Falcon, faces a new phase of his acting career, he is set to display not only his dramatic skills but this time, he'd be challenging himself to show-off some action stunts. For him, this is a "dream come true" project. "I have always wanted to do an action drama series that is why I’m very grateful that my wish has been granted," he said.

During the presscon, Ejay was very thankful for having chosen as one of the main characters in "Dugong Buhay," he heartily expressed, "Sobrang nakakataba po ng puso at pinagpapasalamat ko sa lahat ng nakaisip para ibigay po sa amin 'to." 

Meanwhile, Sunshine Cruz has made a complete comeback via "Dugong Buhay" as Isabel de Lara, she was also very excited to be working again and back on tv, "I am very thankful to ABS-CBN for the trust that they have given me for this kind of project. I am very thrilled and at the same time very nervous about the outcome of my performance."

After thirteen years of hibernating and playing a full-time housewife for Cesar Montano and their three beautiful daughters, Sunshine admitted that, after "Dugong Buhay," she'll be pursuing her showbiz career again. She's enjoying and having a great time, she even shared, "Ang sarap! Kahit napupuyat kami kasi, kahit 'yung staff, and crew and lahat ng artista , masaya lang kami sa set parang naglalaro lang, kahit puyat, enjoy... at the same time, it's a blessing for me, to be able to work again after a while." 

Of all the lines and replies Sunshine had uttered that night, this is my fave, "I've no regrets at all, whatever I've done in the past, I've learned from it, and it made me a better person." 

Joining the powerhouse casts are brilliant actors that includes, Noni Buencamino as Simon, Lito Pimentel, Christian Vasquez as Enrique de Lara, Carlo Aquino as young Simon, Ana Capri, Ronnie Quizon, Pen Medina, Ketchup Eusebio, Ronnie Lazaro, Arthur Acuna, Ahron Villena as young Enrique, Arjo Atayde as Rafael de Lara, Yam Concepcion, Jed Montero, Yen Santos as young Isabel, Jamilla Obispo and Valerie Concepcion.

"Dugong Buhay" is directed by Toto Natividad and Mikey del Rosario and was brought to us by the same team behind the very successful "Be Careful with my Heart."

The newest Kapamilya Gold action-drama series depicts a dark story of the past. It is evidently seen in the trailers and teasers that the main characters had involved themselves into a lot of anger, maltreatment, grudge and vengeance. Those feelings and thoughts had not faded and weren't swept away through the passing of time. We will all learn from their struggles, challenges, experiences and triumph. But truly, the most important thing is, we must also learn how to forgive.

GLORIA GAYNOR, the "Queen of Disco" visits the Philippines!

Gloria Gaynor, American singer and the Queen of disco and soul, is delighted to visit her Filipino fans as ATG Entertainment Productions presents “GLORIA GAYNOR: I Will Survive” on April 5, 2013 at the NBC Tent, Global City Taguig and on April 6, 2013 at the AUF Sports and Cultural, McArthur Highway, Angeles City.

Popularly known as an icon of the disco era, Gaynor will surely be treating you with some of her most recognized international successes. Known for her Broadway-style overture of her hits including her disco hit “I Will Survive” in 1979, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “I Am What I Am” will surely complete a grand production befitting for a Queen of Disco. 

Gaynor released her several albums under the titles "I Will Survive" (Hot 100 number 1, 1979), "Never Can Say Goodbye" (Hot 100 number 9, 1974), "Let Me Know (I Have a Right)" (Hot 100 number 42, 1980) and "I Am What I Am" (R&B number 82, 1983). Said Gaynor of her biggest hit in a 2012 interview "It feels great to have such a song like that because I get kids five and six years old telling me they like the song, and then people seventy-five and eighty. It's quite an honor."
