WPS Advocacy series joined by vigilant and celebrated actors

October 1, 2024

WPS series cast with producer Doc Mike Aragon

This advocacy series is very timely indeed! This is like going through the waves of the West Philippine Sea... sometimes calm but most of the times, really heavy, with strong current and a lot of challenge.

That's why during the Zoom media presscon, when the cast was asked about their preparedness and consequences of participating in this upcoming advocacy series, they've all shared admirable thoughts and feelings... in a way, they're considered modern day heroes as quoted by Doc Mike.

We seldom encounter people most especially actors like them who didn't even demand for a talent fee but still so patriotic and brave enough to express their hopes and share their talents in this advocacy series. They say this is for our country, and for every Filipino in this nation.

Doc Michael Raymond Aragon

As per Doc Mike Aragon, the producer of this project and chairman of KSMBPI (Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc.) said... "This is a subliminal way of talking to the people... we want to talk about the West Philippine Sea (WPS), to correct the foreign policy and to make sure na di mawala ang WPS sa atin."

During the Zoom meet with the WPS series cast, present were AJ Raval, Aljur Abrenica, celebrity brothers Rannie Raymundo and Lance Raymundo.

It was a morning full of vigilance, aspirations,  adorable and a good promise of freedom and stress-free future. All with the same goal and mission.

Very fresh AJ Raval during the WPS Zoom media presscon

This is a fresh take for both AJ Raval and Ayanna Moseli (part of the cast), who were Vivamax actresses. They're given a chance to showcase their skills other than what they usually do in some Vivamax projects. For AJ, she shared that during the time that she was inactive in showbiz for a while, she had a lot of realizations in life. She's happy with this project and that she wanted to use her skills in a more beautiful and meaningful way. They all know that this will benefit all the Filipino people, that's why they accepted the offer.

She also shared that she's done with doing sexy roles and skin exposures, she wanted to try something new that would do good for her. She's still under Viva and that she's no plans of transferring or getting out since her loyalty is still with them.

She plays the role of Allena, an orphan, adopted by commander, played by Rannie, her character has full determination, strength and passion for training. She's a WPS defender.

Trivia about AJ Raval:
She shared that she had undergone naval training before but she never posted about it. Hmmm...seemed like this project is really meant for her, right?!

Now that she's working again with her father, Jeric Raval, AJ said she's happy doing this first advocacy project togrther and also their first outside Viva. She feels comfortable and knows she'll be directly guided by her dad since he's been doing projects like this before.

Aljur Abrenica

As for Aljur Abrenica, he said that upon learning of AJ's decision of switching from sexy roles to more mature and serious projects, he feels happy and proud of her decision. And also at the same time excited to work with AJ and Jeric. Although they're always together during private family occasions, this is their chance for the three of them to furthermore furnish their bonding and relationship.

Role of Aljur:
He plays a major role here (Bobby) , and he's cousins with Lance Raymundo (Andrew). He's a covert spy, one of the major agents here and will of course do a love story angle with no other than his reel and real life partner, AJ Raval.

Rannie Raymundo

Lance Raymundo

Rannie Raymundo shared that, he's also excited for this project and doesn't mind whatever the consequences it may bring as long as the Filipino people will benefit from this. He's also encouraging AJ and Ayanna to pursue their singing skills since they really got what it takes to be a professional singer. Coming from a pro himself, I believe you master Rannie,  even if I haven't got the chance to hear the beautiful voices of these two beauties. 😘

Their targeting November 1 for their pilot episode that will run for one hour. This will be streamed via Satellite TV, radio series in DZRH (morning schedule) , and Viva One. They're also planning to promote this and go on tour nationwide to disseminate information using the power of entertainment.

Guys, this is really something to look forward to and will be worth our wait definitely... so please check this upcoming advocacy series, the WPS.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding project and stay vigilant at all times!

"MABUHAY KAYO!!!"

Visit the #NotOneInch Interactive Exhibit on West Philippine Sea at Robinson's Galleria until November 23

November 17, 2023

Pinoy Aksyon (Pilipino Aksyon for Governance and the Environment), a volunteer-run non-profit organization will mount an exhibit called “Not One Inch: Our Seas, Our Hope.” The exhibit will run from Nov. 13 to 23 (except Nov. 19), at Robinsons Galleria Activity Center, Level 1 Atrium.

It showcases photos, videos, and other narratives of the fisherfolk of the coastal community of Masinloc, Zambales—one of the communities benefiting from the waters of the WPS, the unique biodiversity under the sea, a timeline that explains the history of WPS from pre-colonial times to the present, a “tunnel,” and many more.

"Not One Inch" also emphasizes the rich marine ecosystems in the West Philippine Sea with documentation from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The Philippines continues to suffer harassment in the West Philippine Sea despite the landmark 2016 ruling of the International Permanent Court of Arbitration that declared China's maritime claims to be devoid of legal basis.
