Festive delights await shoppers at the GH Night Market, the annual event that gives families and friends the chance to bond over food and shopping while enjoying wonderful live music and holiday decor.

The GH Night Market at GStrip Parking officially opens today, November 8, and showcases a vibrant and lively marketplace of delectable food and unique products from all over the country. 

The official opening was attended by San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, Vice President of Ortigas Malls Architect Renee Bacani, Ortigas Family, San Juan city officials, and other Ortigas Malls executives. They led the ceremonial lighting of the Night Market to welcome expectant foodies and holiday shoppers. A choir performance by Lighter Side Movement Choir and a dance showcase by LED Buganda Dancers filled the GH Night Market with joyful holiday spirit. GH also wowed guests and shoppers with a brilliant fireworks display.
 
In the spirit of the holidays, Ortigas Malls executives and Mayor Zamora distributed gift packs to children beneficiaries from White Cross Orphanage - San Juan. Every year, GH partners with a charity to spread the love and joy of the season.

Delish selection of food
A yearly highlight of GH Night Market are the food stalls that serve various cuisines, such as grilled pork barbecue, Hungarian sausage wrapped in bacon, different types of pasta, and desserts like magic ice cream. With our love for food—and sharing what we love—the Night Market offers a Christmas food shopping experience like no other.

Refreshing drinks
Shoppers can find great drink pairings to their meals at GH Night Market. They can enjoy a wide selection of freshly squeezed juices, milk tea, and more.

A Pledge to Give & Care: 100 Days of Caring and Giving at SM Supermalls

Everytime the "ber" months roll in... Christmas songs and some also have started to decorate their homes and even establishments with the Christmas decors... it's that time of year when we all feel something really "special" is about to happen again and even though most of us, fear of spending too much every holiday season, well, we must all admit... it's really worth the wait, right guys? 

It's because, we really feel so grateful Jesus Christ's birth. We relive and commemorate His eternity. Aside from loving, 'tis the season of caring and giving. 


This year may not be as festive as previous years, but it will most certainly be more meaningful. SM showed us the most uplifting way to best celebrate the season with “100 Days of Caring”;  featuring 100 days of spreading love, thoughtfulness, and care for one another and for the communities surrounding our favorite SM malls. The virtual event showcasing the pledges happened Thursday, Sept 16, 2021 over FB Live and WatchSM on YouTube.

100 days of Caring”. To kickstart the Christmas countdown, SM pledged to donate to over 10,000 beneficiaries, namely communities in need, hardworking SM employees, medical frontliners and dedicated delivery partners, among others. Some of the beneficiaries and their partner malls are as follows: 

‘Gift’ for your mental health. Aside from our physical health being at risk during a pandemic, our mental health is also affected due to the stress and anxiety these times bring. And since SM believes in the value of taking care of our mental health, Dr Gia Sison, MD DPCOM gave a  ‘Call to Share’ talk during the virtual launch. Dr Gia Sison is a mental health advocate and co-founder of PH Leader Livestrong Foundation. Her talk centered on how to cope during this stressful time and still find hope in a better tomorrow.





100 voices that care. If there’s one thing that binds us all Filipinos together, it’s our passion and love for music. While we may not be allowed to have big gatherings this year, SM entertained the audience with the performance of the 3 Divas – Rahda, Frenchie and Bituin Escalante; later on joined by 100 artists, singers, and SM employees and stakeholders who came together to sing during the virtual launch on Sept 16.

That creamy, cheesy taste on your fave Christmas recipes with a twist!




Ahhhh can you feel it? Can you hear or smell the spirit of Christmas? It is actually right at the tip of our noses, right?! But let me ask you about what are the other things that excite you most during Holiday season aside from giving and receiving Christmas presents? Hmmmm... I guess, I know exactly what you are thinking and your answer is, and I bet it is the same and as good as mine :)) 

When people talk about food, it is an endless topic right?! And when we talk about our favorite time of the year, which is Christmas, the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, then there's New Year celebration, we couldn't help but to prepare something really good if not, the best for our family and loved ones. And the tastiest and easiest way to their hearts, rather stomachs :)) is to cook or make their fave Christmas recipes. 

And I know you would all agree with me and nod your head when I say that, it has been a tradition for everyone, most especially us, Filipinos, to have a Cheese Ball on every Noche Buena dining table, (Christmas Eve). Well, in our family, we've all grown up to this type of tradition and am pretty sure you can relate to this too, right?! And to tell you honestly, it has never been my fave 'til I came across Danes Cheese Ball. Kidding aside, it really tastes way better than the other commercialized brands and it's so creamy without experiencing an after taste, take note of that! 

 I'd like to share with you my amazing  dear readers, what I did with the very versatile Danes Cheese Ball. 

My HoliDanes Cheese Board 

You see sometimes, I'd really like to prepare and do out-of-the -ordinary kind of thing you know what I mean :) Included in my HoliDanes Cheese Board are biscuits, Christmas ham, almonds, raisins, the paté and of course, the star of the program, Danes Cheeseball which cut and sliced into different sizes and shapes to make it more appealing and appetizing! This one, I just thought of this because, I'd like to think of some other way that I could make use of the Danes cheese ball or when we have some left overs even after Christmas or you can also prepare it on New Year's eve dinner with family or any other time of the year. I was able to include diced ham,  some fruits like grapes, melon, fuji and red apples. Since this is also a very versatile concoction, it all depends on what fruits or any other edible stuff that you'd like to use. Hope I was able to contribute something to feed your creative juices. 


So, you think you've had enough? Nuh uh there's more! This time, you'll get to use Danes Cheese Ball to your fave Christmas recipes with a twist! Here you go: 



1. Spaghetti
Spaghetti is a Filipino party essential and Christmas is no exception! Something about this just screams, “Let’s celebrate!” This Christmas, why not make your sweet spaghetti even better with cheese mixed into the sauce. Then sprinkle a lot of cheese on top. This will surely be a hit with the kids!

2. Caldereta
Every mom has a specialty dish, and you can expect it served on the grandest
occasion of the year. Caldereta is one of the most popular mommy specialties. It’s a
common heirloom recipe passed on from generation to generation. Adding cheese to the sauce makes it even more savory.

3. Kakanin
When the Simbang Gabi starts, churches will be surrounded with stalls that sell colorful delicacies like bibingka and puto bumbong. As an appetizer or dessert, we can’t get enough of kakanin, especially with cheese sprinkled on top of them! Besides, nearly everything is better with cheese, right?

4. Fruit Salad
What’s Noche Buena without Lola or Tita’s fruit salad? Most of us probably even helped making this as a kid, right? Bonding over Noche Buena preparations is a special part of our family memories. It’s a really cheesy moment we share with our families.
