March 20, 2021

Gretchen Ho, TV personality and Woman in Action

Gretchen Ho, Krie Lopez, Ann and Billie Dumaliang are successful young Filipinas from the media, business, and environmental fields. They may have different backgrounds but have one thing in common that make them all winners in their own right - the power of women connections. How do they overcome the odds and inspire other women to do the same? Simple. #SheConnects.

This Women’s Month, PLDT Home launches the #SheConnects campaign that seeks to connect women from all walks of life to help inspire, elevate, and educate one another. The #SheConnects campaign puts a spotlight on the unique journeys of Gretchen, Krie and the Dumaliang sisters who have become successful Filipina champions, beacons and builders of today’s generation.

Ann and Billie Dumaliang, Managing Trustees of Masungi Georeserve

For Billie and Ann Dumaliang, the lure of success would have taken them downa much different path. But in the sisters’ heart was a commitment to environmental sustainability and cultivating that passion, in others as well. The struggle to protect the Masungi Georeserve was difficult and dangerous, to say the least, but the sisters believe that one has to be brave in pursuing their purpose. They are now champions in their own story and hope toinspire others to connect to nature and protect it. The sisters have established one of the most successful efforts in environmental protection and preservation, in the country today.

Krie Reyes-Lopez, Founder and CEO, Messy Bessy

Like many other CEOs, Krie Reyes-Lopez, on the other hand, could have focused on reaping the fruits of profit and income. But that was far from her heart. She instead centered on social welfare and women inclusivity and has received widespread acclaim for her efforts. She has evolved the ‘Messy Bessy’ brand from a successful cleaning and personal care product line into a full-fledged development program that provides training, counselling, and education for women. She is a prime example of a master builder and many lives are now the better for it.

Powered by PLDT Home’s strongest connections at home, these empowered women will share their stories in a masterclass video series. Learn more about the success journeys of Gretchen, Anne, Billie, and Krie by watching their videos on PLDT Home’s social media pages: YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Sunlife celebrates "Financial Freedom Month"

Bro. Bo Sanchez with Sara Black and Krie Lopez

In celebration of Sunlife Philippines "Financial Freedom Month," they had organized "Sun Talks," event held at the Makati Shangrila Plaza last June 4. We were invited to witness the inspiring and motivational talks, sharings and life's learnings of the invited guests and speakers namely, Ms. Krie Lopez, CEO of Messy Bessy Cleaners, Inc. the second one was Sara Black, a model turned photographer and a health advocate and then lastly was Mr. Eugenio Isabelo Tomas Reyes Sanchez Jr. a.k.a. Bro. Bo Sanchez, a best-selling author, great public speaker, entrepreneur, Catholic lay preacher and minister.

The three mentioned speaker had shared their own stories about life in different aspects and perspectives. Like for example, Ms. Krie Lopez, her success "life" story was really moving and inspiring. Her company, Messy Bessy offers organic household, beauty and personal products which I find very useful for all of us, consumers. Having been this successful in her chosen field and business, she and her company had opted to help and assist the youths who are less fortunate but are more deserving of their educational and financial assistance. And they also earned valued testimonies of people whom they were able to help make their lives better with some, had even undergone careful training under their company and worked there as their employees.

As for Ms. Sara, the story of her "health" struggle and journey was such an eye-opener for all of us. During her modelling and photography career, she felt that she has the world already not until she was diagnosed to have a breast cancer... time passed and she was able to survive that "nightmare," she was then met an accident and suffered a multiple hip fracture. A lot of things had been goin' on in her mind during those times. She was very down but the people around her, her family, her friend, relatives and everyone who loves her had given her the "push" and strength to go through her life, get up and embrace wellness. She is now a health and yoga advocate who believes that we should all be healthy in mind, body and spirit all the time.

And last but not the least, Bro. Bo Sanchez's story about "wealth." Having heard him for the second time around, was still a refreshing experience. He had shared another part of his life from his past. During his childhood, he had always adored the noble life and idealism of St. Francis of Assisi. But as he matures, he had realized the importance of proper management of money. He even helped and taught two of his house-helpers how to manage their finances and would you believe, they are now millionaires! Bro. Bo also also knows how to give back, he launched the "Anawin Lay Missions Foundation" to be able to help the elderly and and abandoned ones.
