Chef JR Royol will take us to his hometown in the second anniversary of "Farm to Table"

February 18, 2023

The culinary show started at during "pandemic," it was February 21 of the year 2021.... it was when almost everyone were so excited and very interested in farming most especially urban farming and investing on plants and rootcrops.

From wanting to save money and all, the people were literally craving for more learnings and knowledge to acquire valid tips from shows like this...thus, the GMA NewsTV had come up with "Farm to Table."

Hosted by its resident chef, Chef JR Royol, winner of "MasterChef Pinoy Edition," he entices the viewers beginning with planting, then growing to harvesting the ingredients and cooking them until the plating part. How exciting, right?!

Trivia! Chef JR used to be an underground rock band vocalist! Hmmm so that explains his style and looks, right?! 😉

Amazingly, the show has definitely reached its goal, and that is to encourage and help people to go into farming (rural or urban) and harvest our own crops and produce. I, too am engaged in such field. I've learned to grow my own ... started with sweet basil, then kangkong (water spinach), tanglad and now I've a growing Santol (cotton fruit) in my own little front yard! Would you believe that?!

This February 19, "Farm to Table" is gonna have a month-long celebration for it's second year anniversary! Chef JR will take us to where he started... to his roots in the Mountain Province.

Chef JR Royol

Gees, I am so excited for this! There will be a lot in store for all of us. He's gonna be featuring the local dishes or delicacies there like the "Etag," how they manage to store it and all of their food stocks, a tour of his hometown in Barlig, Mountain Province, we'll all be able to see Chef JR's family and clan as well as his Uncle Roy who had been very instrumental for his journey as a food explorer and a lot more!!!

Guess this will be a lot of fun-filled, full of excitement and foodventurous four weeks of "Farm to Table's" second anniversary celebration!!!

Please do watch "Farm to Table" every Sunday, 6:50pm in GTV and for Livestream via GMA Network YouTube Channel and on Farm to Table Facebook page
