Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express Takes Families on a Frightfully Good Halloween Ride

Me and my Spidey, I mean Brycie during Nickelodeon's Takotown event held just recently at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall

Yes, it was the spookiest time of the year! Kids get to wear their fave costumes be it a scary one, a fairy one, superhero characters or from any of their favorite cartoon characters most especially those from Nickelodeon. We were so glad that we get to attend the Nickelodeon's Takotown Fright Express event held at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall just recently.

The kids there had so much fun, aside from the Fright Express, there were numerous booths wherein you can register and had your picture taken at the photo booth and others they give some freebies, goodies and kiddos also get to participate in some interactive activities or join the games happening on stage.

On the spookiest day of the year, kids and family entertainment brand, Nickelodeon, took everyone on the ride of their lives aboard the Takotown: Fright Express — a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience held at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall where over 4,000 fans were treated to an afternoon packed with frightfully-fun tricks and treats, surprises and activities, with the highlight being the Spook Station’s Terror Tour.

The perfect trick or treat activity for kids (and the young at heart), Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express turned a usually scary Halloween extravaganza into an epic celebration, the Nickelodeon way. And with the Spook Station’s unique and thematic areas, the haunted main attraction offered an unforgettable experience to families.

The Terror Tour took guests on an exciting and interactive travel experience inside the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall. With four special train stops, kids departed for a journey to the Haunted Mansion, where they saw old, creepy-looking picture frames that had real-life costume characters do the scaring.

Along the Cemetery area, passengers weaved through cobwebs and encountered white ladies and ghosts, with skeletons all over the place, while floating coffins swarmed one of the train stops. Filled with spooky trees and a strange abandoned cabin, the Scary Jungle stop left guests screaming and asking for more.

At the opening of Takotown, attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of Nickelodeon’s newest shows—School of Rock and Regal Academy. Live-action show School of Rock, based on a group of overachieving prep school students who band together and learn how to rock it out, was a hit. Regal Academy showed a hilarious and an exciting new take on some of the best-loved fairy tales, which focused on the adventures of Rose Cinderella, the newest student at Regal Academy.

A special activity area was also in-store for the thousands of Takotown fans. Apart from the Spook Station’s Terror Tour, guests also took part in Nickelodeon-inspired stage games, patterned after some of the brand’s well-loved shows, such as The Loud House, and The Fairly OddParents, for a memorable Halloween experience.

To complete the visit to Takotown, some of Nickelodeon’s famous characters, like Bikini Bottom’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, as well as PAW Patrol’s Chase and Marshall, also made special appearances and delighted event-goers.

It's more Fun in Tutuban: A back to school shopping

What's the best place in Metro Manila for complete yet very inexpensive shopping? Do I here Divisoria? Did somebody say Tutuban? Oh well, I know each of us had somewhat different experiences to share about this densely crowded, noisy, risky, market place. But if you want to experience clean, convenient, air-conditioned and safe shopping while you make all your "tawad" or bargaining with the stall owners/ tenants or sales attendants :D do shop at Tutuban Mall located at the heart of Claro M. Recto Ave., Manila.

Tutuban has three major malls...

Tutuban Centermall

Tutuban Prime block mall

and the Tutuban Cluster mall

Plaza Bonifacio

Trivia: The seven-foot monument of Bonifacio depicted as a thinking man, is built infront of the Tutuban Mall to pay respect to the country’s national hero. The Plaza Bonifacio has a flooring design of a sun with its rays embodying the provinces influenced by Bonifacio to join the revolution against the Spanish regime. Since it's "back to school" mode once again, I always make it a point to shop at Divi (divisoria), in Tutuban mall, particularly. For my shopping gear, I am wearing my most comfy outfit ;) be sure not to bring huge bags and other accessories with you. As for me, I feel secured wearing my sling bag placed in front and my comfy flip flops...with my complete shopping list inside my bag, I'm all set to go!

For a budget of 1k, my first purchase were 2 St. Mark's polo (medium, without slits) of course, for my unico hijo. I got those for Php130 instead of Php150, that means to say, I still have Php740 cash on hand.

Just to give you a hint, the cost of this full outfit is Php4,500, then you can make your "tawad" na lang if you're really interested. :)

Still at Cluster mall, we've found NC Photoshop and dry goods at the ground level where I bought again 2 polo for my son (this time, the brand's name was St. Anthony). no offense to St. Mark's :)) but its textile is much thicker and th eprice is also a little lower, that's why I didn't skip the chance of buying 2 more.

I'm pretty much sure I could still buy few more school items with my remaining Php110. Now we're heading towards Tutuban Center mall.

What's in store for us? Tutuban Center mall serves as the flagship of Tutuban mall. It is a four storey shopping arcade which is the hub of activity in the entire shopping center. Our last stop for our "back to school" shopping in Tutuban, was hunting for school supplies at Papermart located at the ground floor of Center mall.
