This time, I'm gonna ask him if he could accompany (he usually does!) me to one of my events (made up) on February 13, 2013 the venue would be in a hotel (which I would be looking for after this). Are you still with me? You wanna know why I opted to pick the Valentine's eve? It's because, as part of the plan, we would be staying in the hotel room overnight. KAILANGAN KO'Y IKAW: A STORY OF LOVE AND SACRIFICE

         

ABS-CBN’s highly anticipated Primetime Bida teleserye, “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” will have its pilot episode today, January 21, 2013 at 9 pm, after “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.” The “Queen of All Media,” Ms. Kris Aquino is back via this tv series in a primetime slot together with the beautiful “Box Office Queen,” Anne Curtis and the “Idol of the Masses,” Robin Padilla.

“Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” is not just a regular teleserye, starting from its three top caliber main characters, to its supporting actors, to its prime directors namely, Malu Sevilla, Bb. Joyce Bernal and Eriberto Villarin. This newest tv series would definitely draw the “teleserye-fanatics” to their seats and will be glued to their boobtubes from the pilot episode ‘til its end.

The beginning of the story may have resembled other films or series but as it progresses, you’ll soon spot the difference, the excitement, the thrill and you'll definitely watch and guard every episode without missing any weeknights. What’s even more exciting about this newest teleserye, is the very spontaneous and superb performances of the three main characters that were caught in a love triangle in the story.  

Kris Aquino plays Roxanne Manrique, elder sister of Anne Curtis who plays Ruth Manrique while Robin Padilla is a police investigator named Gregorio “Bogs” Dagohoy. Roxanne is a very obedient daughter, a loving sister to both Ruth and Red played by Ian Veneracion. She devoted her whole life to their family business just to be of service to their father, Rodrigo Manrique played by Tirso Cruz III; her only wish was to have the freedom that she’s been hoping for and to find true love.

While on the other hand, Ruth is a bratty lass who aspires to be a famous and successful model. She’d do anything to achieve her ultimate dream and to prove her worth to her family. And due to her pursuance to reach her dream, she had thought of “kidnapping herself” for a Php 30M ransom. I would commend Anne for her portrayal here, as if she wasn't acting anymore, she’s so natural! I can still remember her flawless and very effective acting in “Babe, I Love You” movie with former boyfriend Sam Milby where she played a promo girl in 2010.  

Going back to “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” since Ruth had deliberately kidnapped herself and asked for an enormous amount of money from her family, she and Bogs’ paths had then crossed by fate. Bogs is a brave and righteous cop who seeks justice for his father who’d been accused as a robber but still, he firmly believes the innocence of his late father who also served as a policeman. He had failed relationships before and was hesitant to fall in love again not until he met Ruth, the woman that would eventually inspire him to have a change of heart.


Upon learning of his daughter’s blooming relationship with Bogs, Rodrigo strongly expressed his dissent and gave Ruth an offer that would pave to the fulfillment of her dreams. On the other hand, if she dares to refuse the offer, her father would get back on Bogs and promised to make his life miserable like hell. Realizing the impact of that offer to her loved one, Ruth accepted it... she had sacrificed her love for Bogs.

“Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” is a story of love and sacrifice. In life, we experience how to love and be loved, we sometimes need to sacrifice things and even ourselves in favor of others or something. Roxanne had almost given up her whole life because of love for her family most specially her dad, who had so much expectation on her. Is it ever too late for Roxanne to find true love? What if she finds it with the same man her sister also loves and care for? Is Roxanne willing to sacrifice anything for love? What would Ruth do if she finds about her sister and ex-boyfriend’s relationship?

PhilPlans e-payment is an online payment facility that accepts payments for their plan transactions. From the convenience of their homes or offices, PhilPlans planholders can now use their credit cards (Mastercard or Visa) to continue funding their education, pension, and memorial plans.
