In its newest offering, Jollibee is tackling a deeper kind of love—something the brand has yet to talk about, until now—one that goes beyond romance.

“From our very first Kwentong Jollibee in 2016, to the laugh-out-loud Petsa de Peligro series of 2017, and the One True Pair shorts that started in 2018, our stories have focused on the everyday lives of Filipinos, with lessons and messages on hope, love, inspiration, and joy,” said Francis E. The film tells the story of Ian del Rosario (played by John Lloyd Cruz) and Gela Rosales (played by Bea Alonzo)—both famous celebrities who have worked together in the past and are collaborating on a new project. They talk about the lessons they learned about love and life, and how they both played a huge part in each other’s life.

“It was such a joy being able to work with Bea and John Lloyd for this film. As seasoned and award-winning actors who have also been lifelong friends, they bring maturity to the story that makes it highly relatable and gives weight to the message that when you love someone, you love them forever,” Direk JP said.

With John Lloyd and Bea being friends and co-workers for decades, and because the two found that some parts of the story mirror their relationship, both gave their insights and inputs during the script development.

John Lloyd and Bea started being the Philippines’ One True Pair in 2005, which was followed by a box-office hit a year after. Their chemistry and star power were such that they starred for more several box-office hits which cemented them as one of the top love teams in the country.

One True Pair The Movie shows how Ian and Gela reconnect and how their relationship evolved over time and how, despite things changing, many remain the same. 

“Kamusta ang puso mo?” Gela asks Ian.

“Ito may abs na, malakas na,” Ian replies.

These are some of the dialogues in the film that shows how it was crafted to show both the complexity and simplicity of loving someone.

Lacson to reduce poverty through education

Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson’s Edukasyon Plus will provide free education to young people and institute a government internship program where they will receive a P5,000 monthly allowance.




Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson plans to solve the country’s serious poverty problem by providing more people the opportunity to get an education.

In his latest video, the presidential aspirant, who has battled government corruption throughout his career in public service, points out that many young people are forced to drop out of school because of the need to help their families and because being in school is  proving to be a heavy financial burden. Thus, they remain mired in poverty because without a good education their prospects are limited so they often have to settle for jobs that do not pay much.
He will launch an innovative Edukasyon Plus program if elected President that will provide free education and institute a government internship program. Each family will receive a P5,000 monthly allowance during their family members’ internship. Lacson believes that this arrangement will allow students to focus on their studies as they will not be under pressure to help their families.
“Even if education is free, young people cannot finish their studies because they have to help their families. If this vicious cycle continues, when will they be able to lift themselves from a life of poverty?” he says.
Studies show that among member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Philippines have the highest school dropout rate.
Lacson is convinced that education is the only way to give people the chance of a better future and to improve the lives of Filipinos, many, if not most, of whom still live below the poverty line. People remain mired in poverty, unable to get better-paying jobs, for lack of education, he stresses.
With Edukasyon Plus, young people can avail of free education and participate in a government internship program that will pay their families a monthly allowance. “They won’t have to choose anymore between education and work to help their families,” Lacson says. He believes the program will help many people leave behind lives of poverty.
“Edukasyon Plus is the real solution to the problem of poverty,” Lacson adds.
Lacson and his running mate, Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto, are running on the slogan “Aayusin ang gobierno, aayusin ang buhay mo.” (They will fix the government and put your life in order.)

TECNO Mobile Awards Budding Filipino Filmmaker Johanna Serrano as the Grand Winner of Its First Movie Masters Program

TECNO Mobile recently concluded its first Movie Masters Program with an awarding ceremony held on December 11, 2021. The Movie Masters Program, which marks the beginning of TECNO Mobile’s commitment to supporting the local filmmaking scene, is a short film competition whose goal is to highlight moving moments from everyday life through dynamic, touching, and beautifully-made original videos shot by aspiring local filmmakers using the CAMON 18 Premier smartphone. 

At the awarding event, filmmaker Johanna Serrano was named the Grand Winner of the Movie Masters Program for her film, Bukidnon An Eco Adventure, besting two other finalists, Dylan Talon and Angelo Crisostomo. In the short film, Johanna takes viewers along as she explores the beautiful province of Bukidnon, sharing raw and authentic moments that she experiences during the trip.



As the Grand Winner, Johanna received a Php 300,000 film grant, along with the chance to create a short film together with top local director, Paul Soriano and the TEN17P team. The film, which will be released globally this December, will take a look back at the past year, and show how Filipinos are capable of overcoming challenges that may shake them, in order to live a steady life with the promise of a stable and beautiful future. 

Apart from emerging as the Grand Winner of the short film competition, Johanna was also named as one of two TECNO Mobile 2022 Tourism Ambassadors. The second Tourism Ambassador awarded at the event was Felix Ablao Jr., who submitted the best steadiest video entry for the Shaky Video Championship on Facebook. Both TECNO Mobile 2022 Tourism Ambassadors received Holiday Travel Funds amounting to Php 40,000 as their prize.

In a message to the finalists, and those watching the awarding ceremony, Direk Paul Soriano shared that the technology found in the CAMON 18 Premier makes it a great tool for capturing and telling stories. He also invited more filmmakers and creators to take advantage of opportunities like the Movie Masters Program. He said, “We have the freedom that we all want when we tell our stories. The creative freedom. It’s really just you, and the CAMON 18 Premier, and your stories. What else do you need?”

The Movie Masters Program showcased how the CAMON 18 Series pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a professional camera smartphone. The finalists were able to experience the “Movie Master” CAMON 18 Premier firsthand, testing out its ultra-steady Stabilized Gimbal Camera to achieve a #SuperSteadyShot as they created their short films.
