Vivo has created an out-of-this-world gig for music-lovers at UP Fair

Crowd favorite: Rock star and prolific songwriter Ebe Dancel performed his hits at the UP Fair Cosmos concert.

Thousands of young music-lovers joined global smartphone brand Vivo at the University of the Philippines Sunken Garden on Friday, February 16, to an out of this world musical trip at the UP Fair Cosmos gig.

Vivo co-sponsored the concert headlined by the country’s top acts like Ebe Dancel, Barbie Almalbis, Aia de Leon, Mayonnaise, Callalily, Rocksteddy, Silent Sanctuary, Hale, and Itchyworms. They also shared the stage with up and coming artists such as IV of Spades, Ben&Ben, and Absolute Play.

Crowds flock the Sunken Garden as early as 3:30pm for the UP Fair Cosmos concert.

Gates for the Cosmos concert opened as early as 3:30pm and the fun lasted until the wee hours. The Sunken Garden was quickly filled with music-lovers from all walks of life who patiently waited for their favorite artists. Concertgoers jumped, danced, and screamed to Filipino music the entire night, proving the magnetic pull of OPM acts.

On top of all the music, attendees were also treated to a new song from indie folk pop band Ben&Ben when it debuted “Sunrise” during its set at the Cosmos concert.

Students were also given the opportunity to be part of the Vivo Club during the Cosmos concert and throughout the weeklong UP Fair.

Student members of the Vivo Club get to enjoy exclusive invites to Vivo events and other perks. They also have the privilege of honing their skills as a project manager or a contributor, a host, and a performer. Students also enjoy internship opportunities at the young global company once they signed up to join Vivo Club.

Juris' "Magkaibang Mundo" is set to release

The "Soothing Voice of Asia" Juris Fernandez- Lim not only enjoys being a happy wife to Gavin Lim, another reason for her auspicious mood is that her latest album "Forevermore" recently reached the gold record status.

Her second single "Magkaibang Mundo" from the said album is set to release and was written by the former Sugarfree vocalist Ebe Dancel. This precious gem of Star Records' "Acoustic Pop Sessionista" is going to enchant her beloved listeners not only in the Philippines but also in other South East Asian countries as she is set to be positioned to be the "Soothing Voice of Asia," with the launch of her third album supposedly this month of May. Her latest album produced by Singaporean company S2S will be an all-English repertoire that would cater to the wider South East Asian market.

Juris' fateful success as a solo artist started with Star records. Her first album "Juris: Now Playing" has achieved the platinum status. Her hits include soothing renditions of well-loved Filipino ballads like "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin," Don't Say Goodbye," and "Forevermore." We could listen from the petite singer's second album as a solo artist, "Forevermore" her original composition entitled "Bliss" which she really feels proud of and hopes that the song will make it as a soundtrack in one of ABS-CBN's teleseryes. ;-) Go girl!

When asked about her dream collaborator, she said, she wishes to collaborate with Bono from the international group U2 and wants to do duets with local artists Joey G. of Side A and Ebe Dancel. She likes listening to the songs of Ms. Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez and Barbra Streisand. Being her favorite music group, she asked "The Company," to sing Norah Jones' "Come away with me," during their wedding, which according to Juris, that was his hubby's theme song for her, isn't that sweet?! ;)) And to all Juris' followers, her fave colors are yellow and dark blue and green. She would also like to thank everyone who had bought her cds and to those who continue to support her. For those who haven't got a copy yet, go grab one now!

Meanwhile, Juris will be serenading her fans in a series of mall shows-- she had just gone to Robinsons Stramills Pampanga last Saturday (March 24) and at Robinsons Lipa the following day (March 25). But here's more good news, you can still catch her on April 22 at Robinsons Galleria and on April 29 at Robinsons Sta. Rosa.

Don't forget to grab a copy of Juris' latest album "Forevermore" still available on your favorite record bars nationwide. For more updates and online song downloads, log on to www.starrecords.ph and for more information, visit Star Records Facebook fanpage or follow @starrecordsph on Twitter.
