Ria Atayde got pregnant out of wedlock in "Ipaglaban Mo: Disgrasyada"

Ria Atayde

Ria Atayde is Maria Sophia Campo Atayde in real life, born in March 23,1992 with parents Sylvia Sanchez, a veteran actress and father Art Atayde, her sibling, Arjo Atayde is also one of the great actors we have today. Ria is also making her own name in local showbiz. Never did she imagined that she'll also enter showbiz just like her mom and brother. Opportunities can!e her way and now here she is! Asked what she'd wanna be if not given the chance to be an actress, she said, she wanted to become a PR in a PR firm because she's fond of organizing events when she was still in school.

Last Saturday, Ria had played a lead role as Gladys Laurena in "Ipaglaban Mo: Disgrasyada," #IMDisgrasyada which aired right after "It's Showtime." Gladys is a school teacher who fell in love with her co-teacher Ben, played by Enzo Pineda.

Gladys and Ben feel for each other. For two years, they have been secretly living together in one roof, without the knowledge of the school's personnels they are working with. When Gladys got pregnant by Ben, both were surprised because it was not part of their plan yet. That incident initiated Ben to not to contact Gladys and later on resigned from their work.

Apalled from Ben's irrational absence and acts, Gladys was even surprised and felt disgusted when the school learned about her condition thereby dismissing her and not paying her salary. The principal scold her for being immoral and stated that their doings were not paralleled to the school's regulations and image.

Gladys, being fully aware of her real rights, went on to consult a lawyer, Ana Abad Santos who helped her file a charge against her former work. The lawsuit file is under the Republic Act 1052 which states :

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANNER OF  TERMINAL EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT A DEFINITE PERIOD IN A COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR AGRICULTURAL, ESTABLISHMENT OR ENTERPRISE

She fought for her rights with her mom (Irma Adlawan) and her best friend played by Cora Waddell only as her support system. Months passed by, before she give birth, Ben suddenly appeared... begging and asking for forgiveness, he explained his reason why he disappeared into thin air. He said he was afraid of having into a commitment for he's not ready yet since he still has to support three siblings.

The Supreme Court has ruled out! Finally, they had the victory they ever wanted! The truth and justice was on their side. All's well that ends well.

For me, the moral of the story is if we unsure of the real character and capabilitiy of our partner, we should not engage into pre-marital sex. Being in a Catholic country and God-fearing family, we were brought and raised well by our parents and we were all discouraged to not to enter in such relationships and acts. Maybe, if they had not decided to live together, Gladys would not end up like that in the story.

One thing that's good with Gladys' character is that she did not lose hope, she had fought 'til the end, inspite her condition (pregnant),  she really knows her rights and she believed in it.

Ria played very well, as a school teacher, as a daughter, as a friend and as Ben's partner. I like it when her voice squeaks while she's bursting from anger and with tears. She was so good in doing that. At 25, she has played several roles before in her last tv series titled, "My Dear Heart," she played a doctor. Here in #IMDisgrasyada, it's her second time to play a school teacher, her first was in the tv series "Ningning" as Teacher Hope Cruz in 2015.

I guess Ria is ready to portray more adult or mature roles. But according to her at her age, she is still not allowed to have a kissing scene. Well, who knows right, maybe one of these days, she might play a different role, one that will leave us an impression that she is really MADE!

This is me with beautiful and bubbly Ria Atayde during our exclusive interview with her

Thanks for being so amiable and nice Ria! More power to you!!!
Go out and spread your wings!

Arjo Atayde: The Actor in its real sense

Prime Actor Arjo Atayde with his mom and actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez

Who would not know him for his remarkable role in "Ang Probinsyano," as Police C/Insp. Joaquin S. Tuazon, one of Coco Martin aka Ricardo Dalisay's antagonists during his whole appearance in the said soap, that has been running for more than two years now. I am pretty sure that you do have the clue aa to whom I am referring... He's no other than Arjo Atayde who is Juan Carlos Ocampo Atayde in real life. He's now twenty-seven years old and is enjoying the peak of his career.

Being a son of an equally prime actress, Miss Sylvia Sanchez, is a plus factor for him I guess, since Arjo had mentioned before during one of the interviews with him that, his mom gives him some pointers in acting and that she never ceases to remind him and sister Ria Atayde to always stay grounded,  be respectful of others, and to be greatful for everything that they have been receiving.

The good-looking and bedimpled Arjo Atayde

Arjo has been in the showbiz for quite sometime and his acting ability is uncompromised and recognizable. In fact, he has earned numerous awards, such as bagging (to name a few) the PMPC Star Awards for Television as Best Single Performance by an Actor in "Maalaala Mo Kaya: 'Bangka' " in 2012; PMPC Star Awards for Television as Best Drama Supporting Actor via "Dugong Buhay" in 2013 and his latest achievement was another Best Drama Supporting Actor for his performance in "Ang Probinsyano," during PMPC Star Awards for Television in 2016.

I remember Arjo's strong character in "Ang Probinsyano," he was so believable, being an envious, insecure co-police officer of Cardo who uses his position, power and money just to bring Cardo down and his family. He is such an effective actor. By just merely looking through his eyes, this alone could speak to the audience. He effectively transmits and conveys to us what he wanted us to feel and be really involved in whatever scene he's going through. And I believe that he should be given more acting opportunities and projects catering to  that villain-like character.

This time, my fave young actor is back with a different role, or should I say, in a very wholesome and family-oriented character. This particular tv series, I guess, can be considered his very memorable one, for he shares the limelight with no other than her mom, Miss Sylvia Sanchez where they also play mother and son in the story. "Hanggang Saan," has a drama, action, love and crime theme where Arjo plays "Paco," the son of Sonya (Sylvia). There are a lot of conflicts and complications in the story.

Like in these heart-breaking scenes posted above, taken this afternoon, Paco (Arjo), was with his mom Sonya (Sylvia) and his only sibling Domeng (Yves Flores). This particular scene itself consumes a lot of energy, effort and emotions from the cast which I admit, had a great impact on us, viewers. Had they not been good in their performances, I swear, the program would not be receiving awesome reviews and ratings.

Arjo Atayde as Paco in #HanggangSaan

I can imagine how dreadful Arjo's role is as Paco. Presently, he is so torn between the love of his life, Anna (Sue Ramirez), and his very own family, particularly his mom, Sonya who allegedly killed Anna's father, Edward Lamoste played by Eric Quizon. The whole revelation thing came in so quickly, Sonya has forced herself to admit to her family that she was the real killer/suspect of the "Lamoste Murder Case," which ironically, is being handled by a law firm which Paco is also involved working as an apprentice or OJT (On the Job Training).

With Arjo's expertise in this kind of field, he acts so naturally. He is such a blessing to the local showbiz. There are only a few actors which I know that you know, is capable and deserving of the title as "The Actor." He can be the future "John Lloyd Cruz,", and can also be another "Christopher de Leon" in the making. I hope for more good projects for you, Arjo, for you deserve to be "up" there and be even more recognized.

“BE CAREFUL WITH MY HEART”: You Can Take It Just Don’t Break It

We’re now very familiar with ABS-CBN’s newest offering in Prime-Tanghali, “Be Careful With My Heart” teaser wherein Jodi Sta. Maria (Maya Dela Rosa) plays a “nanny” to Mutya Orquia , youngest daughter of Richard “Papa Chen” Yap (Richard Lim) in the story and Jodi was instructing Mutya to say “I Love You Daddy” to Richard and as he reciprocates the gesture, he embraces his daughter while uttering “I Love You” and purposely looking towards Jodi’s direction and the latter’s “sweet smile” was so effective that it gained tons of “kilig” factors to the viewers.

Mutya Orquia, Richard "Papa Chen" Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria

And with that particular scene alone could lead us into conclusion that, it is a romantic, light drama, comedy and “feel-good” teleseries which can happen in real life huh, believe me, because I’ve known a couple of similar stories happened with one of our relatives who had married their “kasambahay or yaya” and the other instance happened to my grandma’s best friend who has captured her “kuya’s” (employer) heart and then eventually got married too. Hay, truly love knows no boundaries, right peeps? It is indeed amazing!

She's so stunning!

The stunning Jodi expressed her excitement towards this new project she was quoted as saying “Espesyal sa akin ang “Be Careful...” dahil ito ang unang seryeng bida ako. First time ko din na makakasama si Richard.” She even added, “Natutuwa ako sa role ni Maya at sa mismong istorya kaya tinanggap ko kaagad nung in-offer ito sa akin.” The versatile actress plays a provincial lass who dreams to become a flight stewardess for her to help her family out of poverty.
Jodi further shared that she is quite positive that Maya’s tale will win the hearts of the afternoon viewers because of the “good vibes” that she brings in the story. She’s very assertive that others will be surely inspired by her character as Maya for she’s very optimistic and considers everything can be done and that nothing is impossible.

The heartthrob "Papa Chen"

On the other hand, “Papa Chen” as he is popularly known for his very first appearance in another triumphant teleserye, “My Binondo Girl,” wherein he played Kim Chiu’s father, was equally excited for their new tv series since this would be his first drama where he plays the leading man. He shared, “Widower ako dito na nahirapang palakihin ang mga anak dahil busy din sa negosyo kaya kakailanganin ko ng tulong. It’s more of an unexpected love story. Maraming “kilig” moments na dapat abangan and I’m sure maraming makaka-relate dito.”

Richard Yap plays Richard Lim and Jodi Sta. Maria plays Maya Dela Rosa in the story

The two leading stars of “Be Careful With My Heart” were asked to describe each other during the newest tv series’ presscon held at Dolphy theater, “Papa Chen” said, “I’ve seen that she’s a very intelligent and very strong woman, we have a lot of things in common din kaya nagkakaintindihan kami, and she’s a very fine actress so, I admire her a lot for all these things that she has accomplished as an actress and a person as well.”
Jodi’s reply was, “Hindi mahirap pakisamahan si Richard, and nakikita ko rin naman sa kanya ‘yung willingness n’ya matuto sa work, ‘yung pagmamahal n’ya sa ...kumbaga new found love n’ya ‘tong trabaho na ‘to eh, ‘yung professionalism nandoon sa kanya tsaka, para kaming partners nito eh pagka kunwari sa mga promos, or kahit sa isang eksena pinag-uusapan namin kung anong gagawin namin, kumbaga nag-aalalayan kami.”

Please watch the Stars of "Be Careful With My Heart" reveal their First Romances

Be ready to fall in love... check out this one-of-a-kind teleseries that starts today, July 9, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. weekdays, before “Showtime.”  This is brought to us by the same group who created “Mundo Man Ay Magunaw,” which is slated to end this Friday incidentally :((

The whole cast of "Be Careful With my Heart"

‘Be Careful With My Heart” is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial. Jodi and Richard is joined by other actors namely Aiza Seguerra, who plays a mother for the first time (would you believe?!), Kute (kuya and ate) to Maya, Sylvia Sanchez is Teresita who plays their mother and the comebacking veteran actress Ms. Divina Valencia is Mamang who plays their “bingi” grandmother so you could now imagine how fun and enjoyable this new teleseries is, right? Other stars in this tv series include another comebacking actor Robert Ortega, Ms. Gloria Sevilla and newcomers Jerome Ponce, son of former actor Jessie Delgado; Janella Salvador, daughter of singer Juan Miguel Salvador and Jenine Desiderio and child actor JM Ibanez.

“Be Careful With my Heart,” you can take it just don’t break it.... to whom would you address this line?

Need I say more? Hahaha

Peace "Mama Chen" (Mrs. Melody Yap, the very lovely and supportive wife of Richard) :))
