Mary Rose Marbil Champions Welfare of Police Personnel Through PNP OLC Foundation’s Initiatives

May 17, 2025

Foundation expands reach, focusing on health, family support, and spreading hope across the nation

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – April 27, 2025 – Ms. Mary Rose P. Marbil, wife of the PNP Chief and head of the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. (PNP OLCFI) is making significant strides in supporting the welfare of police personnel and their families nationwide. Transitioning from her corporate career in December 2024, Ms. Marbil has been utilizing her organizational expertise in this new role and is persistently working towards the expansion of the foundation's reach and impact.

Under Ms. Marbil's indefatigable leadership, the PNP OLCFI, which evolved from a club, focuses on assisting active and retired PNP personnel (uniformed and non-uniformed) and their dependents. The foundation prioritizes those facing critical illnesses like Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and cancer—constituting about 80 percent of their beneficiaries.

Through the "LAB Virus Program" (Love And Blessings Virus), the foundation distributes cash aid and health kits provided by the PNP Health Service, aiming to spread hope to afflicted individuals across all 17 Police Regional Offices. Ms. Marbil reported recently completing visits to all regions, managing three regional visits per week to maximize outreach.

Recognizing the health challenges faced by officers due to stressful work and reliance on instant food options, Ms. Marbil has also championed advocacy for healthier lifestyles within the force. Beyond health, the foundation supports police families by helping hone the future of our ‘little heroes’.

To start, the foundation worked with the Quezon City LGU for the reopening of the Child Development Center within Camp Crame, fulfilling requirements under the Early Childhood Care and Development Act.
Inspired by family traditions of giving back, Ms. Marbil emphasizes the importance of supporting police officers, especially those in remote areas or the "laylayan" who face significant risks and public criticism. "It's a circle of happiness," she explained, noting that supported officers are better positioned to serve the community effectively. She believes augmenting the PNP's budget and upgrading health facilities are crucial for their welfare.

As she focuses on ensuring the sustainability of these programs through potential partnerships with private foundations, Ms. Marbil hopes her successors will continue and enhance the foundation's vital work. Her commitment underscores a desire to ensure that those who serve and protect the nation are supported and valued.

The PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and assistance to the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police and their dependents. Under the guidance of its National Adviser, Mary Rose Marbil, the foundation implements various programs focused on health, welfare, and sustainable livelihood to help improve the lives of the police community.

Myrtle Sarrosa, Sisters continue proper feminine hygiene advocacy amid pandemic

March 7, 2022

Just recently, Kapuso actress/ Cosplayer and over achiever Myrtle Sarrosa, had announced that she'll be continuing as Sisters Sanitary Napkins' Brand Ambassador. She has been in close ties with Megasoft Hygienc Products most especially with Ms. Aileen Choi Go, Megasoft’s vice president for sales and marketing, whom she fondly calls her "big sister."

Ms. Aileen Choi Go and Myrtle Sarrosa during the virtual mediacon

And it was very evident to the Zoom Mediacon they had, plus they were both sporting same haircut and style and same color motif of their outfit. Ome could really tell how close they are and how comfortable they are with eaxh other, which is a good thing since they still continue to support their advocacy which is proper feminine hygiene and how "cool" the school which goes to all the students out there!

For six years, Myrtle and Sisters have been working hand-in-hand to advocate good education and proper hygiene management.

Myrtle, who graduated cum laude at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, says Sisters have been a great help to reach out to the youth and encourage them to enjoy school.

She recalls, “When I first became Sisters' endorser, we worked together to rise above and sobrang nakaka proud yung lahat ng naging accomplishments namin sa Sisters and Megasoft within the last six years.

“We have inspired thousands of students, we have helped multiple schools and we have been a part of the movement to which we make school fun and award all the students and teachers for all that they do. Nakakatuwa din having the opportunity na tulungan yung iba't ibang school sa kanilang facilities and create events para sa kanila to empower them.”

The multi-hyphenated actress-cosplayer-gamer has also become a role model to young females for practicing proper hygiene that is why Megasoft Hygienic Products Inc. continues to trust her as Sisters’ celebrity ambassador.

“My little sister Myrtle embodies Sisters Feminine Care Brand tagline ‘School is cool’ since we started our nationwide campus tour in 2016. She sets the bar of an excellent role model for the young ones to finish their studies amidst challenges and juggling demands of show business,” says Ms. Aileen Choi Go, Megasoft’s vice president for sales and marketing.

Meanwhile, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sisters' very successful school tour was put to a halt. However, this did not stop its connection to students as Sisters and Myrtle continue to engage with them online.

“We diverted our face-to-face school tour by joining online schooling activities like seminars and Brigada Eskuwela through “Personal Hygiene Management” segment, where Myrtle shares her ideas on how to take care of themselves when girls start having periods,” mentions Ms. Aileen.

Myrtle, on the other hand, admits to missing the personal interactions with the students, but she is happy that she’s still able to talk to them virtually.

She says, “Sobrang nakaka miss. During the pandemic, we did mga virtual meetups pero iba pa rin talaga if you see them in person. Lalo na yung excitement nila when we see them on stage and yung happiness nila when we award them. Iba yung feeling talaga ng school tours.”

Soon, Myrtle will be able to meet the young students personally as Megasoft promises to bring back its face-to-face school tours once the COVID-19 restrictions have been loosened.

Ms Aileen says, “We are excited to resume physical events, participate in festivals and school tours nationwide as promised when alert levels will be lifted asap.”

Likewise, she concludes, “Megasoft Hygienic Products Inc. is determined to continuously provide essential hygiene products worth the money of every Filipino.”

Goya Take It, amazingly delicious...enjoy just the way you want it!

One of the best things that I enjoy doing is having at least few grams of chocolates everyday! Aside from the health benefits that it provides such as decreasing the risk of stroke and upping heart health, it gives me a different "high" and enhances my palate keeping me lively and active the whole day! Such a pleasure having munched those chocolates huh! :))

Well, that's not all, there are more reasons to eat chocolates... The Greeks were on to something when they called the cacao tree the “food for the gods.” It is, after all, where chocolate comes from. And, if left on their own, people would anoint chocolate a food group, like grains and vegetables.

To many, chocolate is already an elixir, capable of banishing fatigue, boosting flagging spirits and mimicking the giddy feeling of being in love. In fact, Goya has found another easy-peasy way to get your fix: by just taking it. Yes, the new Goya Take It molded chocolate wafers are three-layer crispy wafer fingers smothered in milk chocolate and available in easy-to-carry packs of 2 fingers, 4 fingers and, if you’re a choco hoarder, a 6 pack of 2 fingers.

Stash it in your bag, your jeans pocket or simply eat it as you go. Goya’s Take It lives up to its name and long-standing reputation as a trusted maker of the Pinoy’s well-loved chocolate brand.
Goya Take It is a chocolate snack that is made the "Swiss" way by Delfi, a product of Delfi, a licensee of Delfi Chocolates Manufacturing S.A. in Switzerland.

That’s your guarantee that every rich inch of Goya Take It molded chocolate wafer is made from swiss quality chocolate which has been highly regarded for centuries all around the world.
That means you get the healthy rush real chocolate delivers. It also means Goya Take It is the real thing, made affordable so you get more pleasurable bang for your buck.

Plus, it’s super versatile. While eating it on its own is awesome enough, Goya Take It allows you to let your foodie imagination run wild. Stick it in your ice cream, or lay a few Goya Take It fingers on a plate and top with ice cream for an a la mode twist.

For a double boost, take a few fingers of Goya Take It with your afternoon coffee.
Or you can even cook with it! Experiment with Goya Take It brownies, or substitute the graham cracker base of your cheesecake with Goya Take It! Perfect on weekends, family gatherings or your sweetest pal’s bachelorette party.

Yet, on its own Goya Take It is uber versatile: as snack, energy-booster and because it’s made so easy to snap, as a way to share, cheer someone up  or get closer to that guy or girl you’ve been eyeing from afar.

Yep, don’t underestimate the power of chocolate. Goya Take It crispy wafer fingers in milk chocolate certainly make all that power affordable, shareable, easy-peasy and amazingly delicious.

Goya Take It is available at major supermarkets, groceries and convenience stores nationwide.

Nora Aunor's "Himala," Digitally Mastered, Showing in Theaters

It's been 30 years since the superstar Nora Aunor's blockbuster and critically acclaimed movie, "Himala" was last seen in Philippine Cinema's silver screen. It was in the year 1982, when multi-awarded writer Ricky Lee had thought of Ms. Nora Aunor as the only person perfect to portray the role of "Elsa," a visionary from Cupang. The film was based on a true story of a teenage girl from Cabra Island, in the province of Occidental Mindoro that happened sometime between 1966 and 1967. This is directed by national artist, the late Ishmael Bernal.

"Himala" is the first and pet project of Leo Katigbak, head of ABS-CBN Film Archives among the 3,000 plus films in the network's film vaults to be digitized and restored. The whole technical plan wouldn't be possible if not for the prime works of Central Digital Lab, Inc. headed by Manet Dayrit. The digitally mastered "Himala" had a world premiere at the prestigious 69th Venice International Film Festival last August at the Venice Lido. The technicians were believed to have worked on this historical film frame by frame for 700 hours.

Mr. Ricky Lee and Superstar Nora Aunor during the premiere of the restored version of "Himala"

Last Sunday, December 2, 2012, I had the great privilege to finally witness the restored version of this highly acclaimed film re- released by Star Cinema held at the Cinema 8 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. I didn't only get to watch it; I had also seen the one and only superstar Ms. Nora Aunor and Mr. Ricky Lee in person. It was very refreshing to have known that such great personalities had appeared and exhibited warm appreciation of their supporters. The whole theater was also filled with "Noranians" and they've been screaming, cheering and been so consistent in expressing their admiration and love towards their idol, Nora Aunor.

The film encompasses man's faith and having no faith at all with its corresponding consequences. Elsa, a visionary of Virgin Mary, who'd eventually became a faith healer, was also a victim of her fellow townsmen's prejudice, covet, abuse, resentment and egocentric dispositions. Diverse life's lessons were exemplified by this movie. Harboring from this film, was Nora Aunor's very famous line:

"Walang himala!!! Ang himala ay nasa puso ng tao, nasa puso nating lahat! Tayo ang gumagawa ng mga himala! Tayo ang gumagawa ng mga sumpa at ng mga Diyos..." ("There is no miracle!!! The miracle is within everyone's hearts, within our hearts! We make the miracles! We are the ones who make curses, and the Gods...")

One of the greatest movies of all time, critically acclaimed and distinguished by prestigious film award-giving bodies both locally and internationally, the digitally restored "Himala" can now be seen in HD in selected Philippine cinemas on December 5, 2012. The film showing will run until three weeks.
