Make way for the "King of the Gil," Enrique Gil

Enrique Gil, the dancing prince in his generation, is now ready to show the world his swag, his moves and angst on stage via his first major dance concert entitled, 'King of the Gil," to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on November 29, 2013, Friday.

At the height of the after effects of the strongest typhoon, Yolanda/ Haiyan, that ever hit the Philippines or the world, Quen (Enrique) still manages to entertain the people and has pledged to give a portion of the proceeds of his concert to the survivors of #YolandaPH. Such a great gesture, Quen, solid! :))

So, your concert tickets will serve a double purpose: you get to be entertained not only by Quen but also by his special friends and guest performers and at the same time, you get to help our "kababayans" who were left distraught by typhoon Yolanda. Speaking of Quen's special guests, everyone will be very much delighted in his line- up that includes: Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Young JV, Rayver Cruz, Rico Blanco, Gloc 9, Arjo Atayde, Aaron Villaflor, Martin Del Rosario, Ejay Falcon and Kim Chiu. Expect Quen to perform special dance numbers with his "Princess and I" co- star, Kathryn Bernardo and "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" leading lady, Julia Montes. Dance groups "Streetboys" and "G Force" will help illuminate the dance floor with their hot and bombastic choreography.

Pretty boy and talented Quen

Quen described his upcoming concert as, "Yung show kasi parang, it's a celebration of me. So parang sa lahat ng sumuporta sa 'kin from the start, since mga "Dougie," sa "Gentleman," parang 'thank you' lang sa fans, so it's my 'thank you' sa lahat ng love and support na binibigay nila. So binabalik ko sa inyo, magpeperform ako para sa inyo. It's more of a 'thank you' concert." He also shared that, concert goers can get to experience the largest video mapping they could ever see.

The dancing prince has been in the industry since 2008, he belongs to ABS-CBN's Star Circle Batch 16. according to him, never had he been so inclined in dancing. "Hindi ko ma-imagine na magiging ganito ako katagal dito. Hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa alam kung bakit nandito pa ako, ginagawa ko lang 'yung gusto ko, sumasayaw ako, nag-eenjoy ako, masaya lang po ako, thank you na umabot ako dito and I wanna stay for a long, long time pa," he said.

Enrique also shared that, before in high school, he was never a performer, he just stayed behind the scene, during school plays, he was the "audio man" or one of the special effects crew, never a dancer nor a singer. He also admitted that since he likes music that much, he finds dancing so fun and enjoyable. All his inhibitions and reservations had faded away and this has defined him more as a person. Dancing has brought him out of his shell and he had gained confidence from doing it. He wants to inspire others to do the same, expressing one's self through dancing with the music, not minding what other people say, as long you're happy and enjoying.

One performer (local) that he wants to perform with is Gary V. and Chris Brown (international). He plans to travel in the future. Acting is really part of his job, he finds this as an expression of himself in a deeper way but he really couldn't take away dancing as part of his system, he likes to entertain people and have fun.

During Quen's blog conference for his "King of the Gil" concert, we had an amazing time with him. It was like we were also among the guests in  Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV) show, hahaha. Quen taught us how to dance the "Dougie," "Whoops Kiri," and the "What the Fox Say" dance steps which Vice Ganda has popularized in his "It's Showtime" and "GGV" shows. He was very amiable and we really enjoyed dancing with him and I'm pretty sure, he also enjoyed as well, hehe.

Quen, me (in blue) and the rest of my co-bloggers dancing! It was so fun and hilarious!

Look! We're enjoying huh! ;))

Enrique Gil poses with the bloggers/ performers, hahaha We all had so much fun with you Quen, this is so unforgettable, hope this won't be the first and last ;)) (special thanks to Gracee Bongolan for this photo and for taking our pictures with Quen!)

Make way for the "King of the Gil!" This is a year-ender event of Enrique for all his fans and supporter.
Here's another good news for everyone, Enrique has divulged that, he's scheduled to do a teleserye before the year ends or early next year, so watch out amazing peeps! :))

For more updates about "King of the Gil," visit Star Records Facebook page or follow @strarecordsph on Twitter.

We love you Quen, thank you for the wonderful time! More power and God bless!

Zanjoe Marudo: "The Main Man" of the New Era of Comedy

"The Main Man" himself, Zanjoe Marudo during pocket presscon of "Bromance: My Brother's Romance"

Some tagged him as the "Prince of Comedy," direk Wenn Deramas even described him as the "Adam Sandler" of the Philippines but after witnessing the overwhelming success of his launching movie, "Bromance: My Brother's Romance," at the tills, bagging 50M on its first week and still counting, I wanted to recognize Zanjoe Marudo as "The Main Man" of the new era of comedy. And yes, he deserves and has every right to be labeled and treated that way. To date, this is considered to be Skylight Films' highest grossing film.

I know Z (Zanjoe) is not that comfortable with the titles being tagged to him, like what he said during the movie's pocket presscon held yesterday at the Star Cinema conference room, "Isang pelikula pa lang eh, parang masyado namang mabilis na magkumpara agad sa ibang tao, sa mga malalaking tao. Mahirap 'yung ganun eh, s'yempre sila marami na talagang napatunayan and maraming pinagdaanan. Ayoko naman na hindi magpasalamat sa mga ganung klaseng puri, sa mga ganung klaseng sinasabi kasi dapat maging masaya ako kung ganun 'yung nakikita nila. Ayoko ding ipasok sa ulo ko kasi baka mamaya magka-attitude na 'ko," he humbly said.

After the effective gay portrayal of Zanjoe in Bromance movie, he doesn't mind being typecasted in such roles he said, "Hindi naman, kung ganun ang gusto nila eh di ganun ang ibibigay ko, kung panonoorin ba nila eh, kasi kung di naman, di naman siguro gagawa ng ganung klaseng pelikula (he laughs)." Another proof of his professionalism and versatility was when he was asked to have a quick but funny "butt exposure" in this film, no questions was asked, no but's and if's, he just said to the their A.D. (assistant director), "Kahit ano sabihin mo, gagawin ko dito." Zanjoe even jokingly said, "Lucky charm yata 'yun eh."

Once again, a film that was worth watching would never slip the theory of the "word of mouth." It is just so powerful than any other marketing strategies, once it had sink in to the moviegoers, no one and nothing could stop its "viral" spread, on a positive note huh! No negative reviews or unpleasant criticism about the movie was posted, published, shared, twitted or submitted. And talking about worth watching, Z could never forget this one positive comment he had encountered, he cheerfully shared, "Ang pinakanatamaan ako sa mga nabasa ko, 'yung sinasabi nila na sulit. Kumbaga worth it 'yung bayad, biruin mo maglabas ka ng pera para panoorin lang ako, parang ang sarap-sarap ng dating. Namasahe pa 'yan, kumain pa 'yan. Ngayon ko lang naman nararamdaman 'yun kasi nga ako naman 'yung gumaganap dun sa pelikula."

Zanjoe is also thankful to his "Banana Split" family, for being so supportive, wherein he is a mainstay at this Kapamilya tv sitcom. After Zanjoe's participation at the reality program PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) Celebrity Edition in 2006, he had done the tv sitcom "Aalog-alog" with fellow ex-PBB housemates Keana Reeves (big winner) and John Prats along with Pokwang and another ex-PBB housemate, Jason Gainza. This was followed-up by "Parekoy," in 2009, another Kapamilya tv sitcom wherein the friendship between Zanjoe, John and Jason got even stronger. Then came "Banana Split,"  Zanjoe was the very first male guest of  the all- female cast that includes Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes, Angelica Panganiban, Valerie Concepcion, Roxanne Guinoo and RR Enriquez and because direk Bobot (Edgar Mortiz) believed in his capabilities, and encouraged him to venture into comedy, he then became one of the show's mainstays together with John and Jason in  Banana Nite and Banana Split Extra Scoop

Zanjoe received a lot of praises and good comments about his stellar performance in Bromance movie. Everyone in the whole cast was given their fair chance and well-fitted spot in the movie. The Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) writes, "The casting is excellent, Zanjoe Marudo is a revelation, as he essayed both his roles with great versatility. "Bromance: My Brother's Romance" is a good vehicle for him to display his range. This was his best movie-- his performance was commendable and effortless-- and it's the perfect launching for him." Compliments also go to of course, direk Wenn Deramas for his outstanding direction and to his co-writers Ayz De Guzman and Danno Kristopher C. Mariquit.
Another X factor of the film was the cameo roles of the biggest celebrities like Kris Aquino, Bea Alonzo, Vice Ganda, John Lloyd Cruz and Ai-Ai de las Alas, who've been very supportive of their friend and co-actor's launching movie.

Given the opportunity to choose for his next movie, Z would still prefer doing comedy roles. Another thing he shared to us during the pocket presscon was his admiration to the 7 year-old child actress/host Ryzza Mae Dizon, whom he hasn't met yet personally, he admitted. Zanjoe also hopes to do a film like "Jack," a 1996 Robin Williams movie wherein Williams played the role of Jack Powell, a boy who ages four times faster than normal; Z finds the role very challenging. And for those who are asking and anticipating for Bromance's international showing, it was already been confirmed that it will be shown in Guam and they are still working on other areas abroad so watch out for it!

Lastly, what could a Zanjoe Marudo has to say after the successful turnout of his launching film, "Bromance: My Brother's Romance? "So ngayon, pag sinasabi nila na sulit, parang di mo sinayang 'yung pera nila, di'ba, parang lesson din sa 'kin. Simula ngayon, tuwing gagawa ako ng pelikula, bawa't eksenang gagawin ko, iisipin ko, hindi magsisisi 'yung tao, iisipin ko 'yung tao na manonood na at least hindi masayang man lang 'yung pera nila," he exclaimed. Very well said Z, good luck on your next project and may you have a blooming career and lovelife at the same time. Congrats!

"This Guy's In Love With You, Mare:" A blockbuster hit on its second week!

After the success of "Praybeyt Benjamin" at the tills last year, here comes another Star Cinema comedy film "This Guy's In Love With You, Mare" which is now on its second week and a certified blockbuster hit with 160 million gross earnings and had 23M on its first day in over 150 theaters nationwide.

I guess one of the biggest and success factors of this film is the characters per se, of course not to forget the box-office comedy director, Wenn V. Deramas. The unique, complicated and fun-filled love triangle story of Gemma played by Toni Gonzaga, Mike played by Luis Manzano and Lester played by Vice Ganda, made the film stand-out since this is the first-ever movie project of the comedy box-office trio.

Hmmm.... dark secret? It kept me thinking what Toni had said about one of the questions that was asked during the movie's bloggers conference- "What is the moral lesson of the movie?" Toni replied, something like "You can never give love unless you learn to forgive." It made sense, right?! :))

Toni Gonzaga during "This Guy's In Love With You Mare" blogcon

The multi-media star also shared her fond experiences with her co-stars and how she promptly describe them, "Si Luis pagdating sa pagkain, isha-share n'ya 'yung food n'ya, magpapabili s'ya, minsan tatanungin ka n'ya kung ano 'yung gusto mo... ibibili ka rin n'ya, si Vice naman, chikahan nang chikahan nang chikahan, tiktakan nang tiktakan nang tiktakan kami nang walang humpay...kwentuhan at tawanan."

The very playful Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano

Parang at its highest level lahat ng eksena. Todo-bigay lahat. Wala kaming tinipid dito, lahat ng ikasasaya ng tao ibinigay namin sa pelikulang ito. On the other hand, Luis shared that he was so excited of the film not only for its unconventional love story but also because he was able to work with his friends.

Meanwhile, Vice strongly believes in the sincere intention of their film which is to spread good vibes among the moviegoers. And truly, every moviegoer that goes out of every movie theater has that certain "smile" not only on their lips but it is also kept within their hearts.

The wacky trio- Vice, Toni and Luis

Toni Gonzaga talks about her unforgettable scenes in
"This Guy's In Love With You Mare"

To add more riotous scenes to the movie, Vice, Toni and Luis were also joined by Edgar Mortiz, Buboy Garovillo, Gladys Reyes, DJ Durano, Karla Estrada, Carla Martinez, Ms. Tessie Tomas, Jayson Gainza, Eagle Riggs, Ricky Rivero, IC Mendoza, Dang Cruz, Cecil Paz, Manuel Chua, Ricci Chan, Tess Antonio and Edward Mendez.

"This Guy's In Love With You Mare," a movie that will tickle your funny bones, still showing in theaters nationwide. For more infos, you can log on to StarCinema or like and visit their Facebook page and follow @StarCinema.

I LOVE GLOBE ❤!!!

Why do I love Globe? Or I guess it would be more aptly stated as "What are the reasons why I love Globe?"

Global Power

When you want to reach out to everyone, most especially your loved ones and the people that you care to the farthest place possible, you can really depend on the Global Power of Globe. Be it personal or business matters, Globe is very much reliable that it reaches out, connects and stands out in so many ways.

Limitless Connection

Ever since I had my very first mobile phone, I've known no other telecommunications network that gives Limitless Connection and for me, Globe is the most likable network and less-likely to lead us astray. Why? Because Globe always sees to it that we're in the right path, with powerful connection and provides the full service possible. Globe utilizes LTE, the most advanced 4G technology capable of blazing data speeds therefore with Globe, nobody and no one will go haywire, trust me. :))

Official Network

I don't wanna sound boastful or rude but no offense meant to other networks huh,  I just believe and I'm pretty much sure that majority of the Filipino users would agree with me to the very obvious fact that Globe is the Official Network in the Philippines! It has more than 25 million subscribers with 650,000 wireline and broadband users. And I'm so glad and proud to say that I'm one of them! :))

Boundless Modernization

I am very much confident about my network and I know that they are pursuing great efforts in building and creating Boundless Modernization of their systems to be able to render us, their subscribers and broadband users, the optimum service range and most advanced network. To cope up with our modern digital and virtual settings, endless technological improvements, widening and boosting are prioritized in their platforms.

Experience

Be it extreme, exclusive and extraordinaire, Globe prepaid subscribers like me and my family enjoy much of Globe's services and promos. Have you watched Sarah Geronimo, Gerald Anderson and Vice Ganda's newest Globe TVC? It's "Go Play with Globe prepaid *143#," it encourages us to punch those figures on our mobile phones to call request and then you'll discover Globe's amazing offerings wherein you can choose (Item no.1) and make your own promo for as low as P5.

Being an avid texter and an "on the go" person, I'm lovin' and enjoyin' much the ALLNET combo (Item no. 3). Once you're subscribed (Item no. 1) to this, you'll experience UnliTxt (Unlimited text) to ALL netwroks (Oh my!); 10 minutes calls to ALL networks (this is really something!) and 50 minutes calls to Globe/ TM for only P25 in one day, OMG!

Here's a TIP for you guys...if you opted to subscribe for 1 whole week which is equivalent to 7 days, it would only cost you P150 instead of P175, isn't that such a great deal?! And if you're thinking about your combo status, worry no more 'cause you'll get your answers as soon as you punch those specific numbers, you'll see... :)) So, what are you waiting for? Go lang ng Go! Let's go with Globe!!!

"Go Play with globe Prepaid *143#" TVC

Just wanna share you two of the exclusive experiences I had with Globe, I used to appear in several Globe's TVCs as a talent. This video was released last 2009 with the title "Sa Globe Abot Mo Ang Mundo." If you'll notice, in the video thumbnail, I was the one wearing the blue top in the picture frame ...

SARAH GERONIMO DARES TO BE BOLDER AND FIERCER IN "SARAH G. LIVE"

Sarah G. is definitely trending worldwide until this time of my writing, it's tagged as "Sarah G. Day." She started her very remarkable day yesterday with fantabulous performances in ASAP 2012, she then guested in another ABS-CBN's popular weekly talk show, "The Buzz" and ended up as one of the special guests among others, that includes Kim Chiu, Izza Calsado, Jovit Baldovino, Bugoy Drilon and Marcelino Pomoy at the trending capital every Sunday night, "Gandang Gabi Vice," which was also trending last night as #GGVFinale. One very surprising announcement about the show last night was, Vice Ganda's show will still continue to air every Sunday nights. ;-) Sarah's guesting at the said show, has undeniably proven all the rumors untrue between her and Vice Ganda.

Photo courtesy of Mr. Gerrome Esguerra, thank you so much!

This young pop royalty Sarah Geronimo is really going “places.” We often see her perform energetically as if “wala nang bukas,” as how Direk Erick Salud describe her, during ASAP 2012 every Sunday on ABS-CBN. Every time she’s there, we can really feel her presence because she owns the stage in every musical number she performs.
Honestly speaking, every time I see her perform, I don’t see a Sarah G. on the screen, she’s so different, she performs just like every musical icon she imitates, of course not to mention that the pop star princess has her own style and moves huh!

Her upcoming show on Channel 2 titled “Sarah G. Live,” I guess is very much timely simply because, it’s high-time for her to unleash a different aspect of her personality, in other words, her “other” side. We can witness a braver, stronger, bolder and fiercer Sarah every Sunday night through her incomparable world-class concert performances that will prove that she is the biggest superstar of her generation.

During the press con of her newest solo musical variety show, Sarah claimed that, she’d be willing to be more “daring” in terms of sexy outfits, being more open about her personal life and wants to be adventurous like trying different genres.

Aside from showcasing her singing prowess, Sarah will also share in the show real life experiences and never-before seen “Sarah G. moments.” From being the 15-year old singing champion of “Star for a Night,” Sarah truly had come a long way with all her achievements as a recording artist, concert performer, actress, host, and even product endorser.

This photo captured Sarah's pretty face, love this! ;-)

Now, the princess redefines the popstar with a weekly concert on TV that everyone will surely be talking about, more so, everyone will be trending about her every Sunday night. She’ll be joined in by-co-host Luis Manzano, musical director Louie Ocampo, choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy who is believed be the heiress of dance masters Geleen Eugenio and Maribeth Bichara and director Erick Salud. Now, Sarah welcomes her newest musical solo variety show and subsequently bids goodbye to her ASAP family, followers and aficionados.

“Sarah G. Live” also features G Force and one of Gary Valenciano’s prides, his son, Gab Valenciano as dance performers and we can expect a special guest co-host every week. Hmmm... do we hear Rayver Cruz or perhaps John Lloyd? Could we expect Cristine Reyes on the dance floor? How about ehem, ehem  Gerald Anderson? Well, these celebrities are very much welcome to act as special guest co-hosts according to Sarah during the press con.

Sarah and Gab was teasing each other during "Sarah G. Live" press con

It has been known that Gerald spent dinner with Sarah's family last Valentine's day. Going back to our popstar princess, she’s openly answered some of the intrigues and cleared some issues between her and Angeline, she said “Hanga po ako sa galing n’ya, may kakaibang talento si Angelyn, iba talaga. Lahat ng artist may kanya-kanyang galing. Nagbabatian po kami at nagkukuwentuhan.”
Going back to her upcoming show, she dreams to have duets with her ultimate idol, Regine Velasquez- Alcasid and Ogie Alcasid as well. She also feels so “kilig” about the thoughts of Bamboo as her duet.

What does direk Erick say about Sarah?- “She’s every director’s dream. I’m a fan of Sarah kaya sobra akong natutuwa na makasama s’ya at mas lalong maganda ‘yun para mas nakaka-inspire na mapaganda ‘yung show.” While Georcelle rates Sarah’s dancing prowess as 9.5, “’Yung natitirang .5 kapag wala na s’yang hawak na mic,” according to the celebrity choreographer. Gab Valenciano answered back to a question about “Gandang Gabi Vice” having set the trends every Sunday nights, “We do not intend naman to set a trend, the show wants to inspire, we want to inspire people.” He also mentioned that, “Sarah G. Live” is a lot different from ASAP, he was quoted by saying “This is a solution with execution.”

Gab on newest musical variety show, "Sarah G. Live:" "This is a solution with execution."

So let’s prepare for the grandest live concert experience every Sunday night, “Sarah G. Live,” which premieres this February 26, after “Rated K.” Another fresh update!!! – To all the Sarah fanatics, she’ll be having her concert on July 21 this year. ;-)
