Watch "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?" so you'll discover the answers!

Was there ever a time that you've asked yourself, "Bakit hindi ka crush ng crush mo?" And yet you still kept asking yourself same old question up to this point?

Gone are the days in high school when we really feel "kilig" every time we see him pass by in front of us; or we'd just be happy and a bit contented by just chancing a glance on our "Romeo," ;-) as we see him during lunch breaks or even at the corridor and our day wouldn't be complete without holding on to this hope that one day, he'll notice us and be closer to him than we can ever imagined! Haiz! Those were the days where dreams for us are so simple and easy to achieve, it's like every time we dream, it's just close to reality and very much possible.

But not all our crushes end up with them having a mutual feeling for us, right? As in there were even times that we feel anxious and ask this clueless question, "Bakit hindi nga ba ako crush ng crush ko?" And thus, this latest movie of Star Cinema, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo," was created based from a best-selling humor book written by self-proclaimed "Internet action star," Ramon Bautista to help us learn and understand some of the reasons why our crush doesn't have a crush on us. :))

This comedy film is still a part of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary offering this year, and this marks as the first big screen team up of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, directed by no other than Bb. Joyce Bernal with script by Ramon Bautista himself and Ms. Carmi Raymundo of "It Takes A Man and a Woman."

Pretty Kim Chiu (Sandy) plays a funny, brainy and ugly duckling office girl

In this movie, Kim plays Sandy Veloso, a brainy ugly duckling who was dumped by her boyfriend Gardo (Kean Cipriano) and wanted to get even to her ex-boyfriend with the help of her young and dashing boss, Alex Prieto (Xian Lim). The two were caught in a deal that would be beneficial for the both of them on different respective aspects.

Xian Lim, Kim Chiu and Kean Cipriano during the movie's blogcon

Watch the wacky and witty encounters of the characters while discovering the somehow "close to reality" answers that would make the us, the viewers realize the reasons, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?" A real feel-good movie that will take us back to reality, the reality that is most often tagged as the "Ugly Truth." hehe But in a way, it helps us to recover our feelings and sometimes it really feels fine if we just shrug-off our shoulders from the thought of it, c'mon, try it!

Past is always a rebuke to the present. We learn from our mistakes. And as long as we're open for better change, we could never commit same mistakes again.

Still curious? Watch the latest talk of the town, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo" movie in your favorite theaters so you'll discover the answers!

"This Guy's In Love With You, Mare:" A blockbuster hit on its second week!

After the success of "Praybeyt Benjamin" at the tills last year, here comes another Star Cinema comedy film "This Guy's In Love With You, Mare" which is now on its second week and a certified blockbuster hit with 160 million gross earnings and had 23M on its first day in over 150 theaters nationwide.

I guess one of the biggest and success factors of this film is the characters per se, of course not to forget the box-office comedy director, Wenn V. Deramas. The unique, complicated and fun-filled love triangle story of Gemma played by Toni Gonzaga, Mike played by Luis Manzano and Lester played by Vice Ganda, made the film stand-out since this is the first-ever movie project of the comedy box-office trio.

Hmmm.... dark secret? It kept me thinking what Toni had said about one of the questions that was asked during the movie's bloggers conference- "What is the moral lesson of the movie?" Toni replied, something like "You can never give love unless you learn to forgive." It made sense, right?! :))

Toni Gonzaga during "This Guy's In Love With You Mare" blogcon

The multi-media star also shared her fond experiences with her co-stars and how she promptly describe them, "Si Luis pagdating sa pagkain, isha-share n'ya 'yung food n'ya, magpapabili s'ya, minsan tatanungin ka n'ya kung ano 'yung gusto mo... ibibili ka rin n'ya, si Vice naman, chikahan nang chikahan nang chikahan, tiktakan nang tiktakan nang tiktakan kami nang walang humpay...kwentuhan at tawanan."

The very playful Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano

Parang at its highest level lahat ng eksena. Todo-bigay lahat. Wala kaming tinipid dito, lahat ng ikasasaya ng tao ibinigay namin sa pelikulang ito. On the other hand, Luis shared that he was so excited of the film not only for its unconventional love story but also because he was able to work with his friends.

Meanwhile, Vice strongly believes in the sincere intention of their film which is to spread good vibes among the moviegoers. And truly, every moviegoer that goes out of every movie theater has that certain "smile" not only on their lips but it is also kept within their hearts.

To add more riotous scenes to the movie, Vice, Toni and Luis were also joined by Edgar Mortiz, Buboy Garovillo, Gladys Reyes, DJ Durano, Karla Estrada, Carla Martinez, Ms. Tessie Tomas, Jayson Gainza, Eagle Riggs, Ricky Rivero, IC Mendoza, Dang Cruz, Cecil Paz, Manuel Chua, Ricci Chan, Tess Antonio and Edward Mendez.

A Story of Love and Responsibility.... “The Mistress”

Love begins with Attraction...
Love is fueled by Desire...
Love takes on Risks...
Love comes with Pain...
Great Love comes with Hope.

These are the running taglines from the most awaited romantic- melodrama movie of the year....
“The Mistress.”

Wife or mistress, husband or lover, boyfriend or girlfriend, friends or enemies, I guess everyone’s been expecting and so excited in watching this Star Cinema’s newest offering. Helmed by no other than Ms. Olivia “Inang” Lamasan, and penned by one of the celebrated screenwriters of our time, Ms. Vanessa Valdez, this film marks as Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd’s comeback project as a love team on screen since their last partnership two years ago, via the movie “Miss you like Crazy.”

“The Mistress” not only celebrates the 10th year anniversary of “John Lloyd-Bea” tandem, but according to direk Olive, it also marks her 10th film directorial job, as well as Vanessa’s 10th screenplay, so they’re celebrating a Triple 10, would you believe? :)) Congratulations to all of you! Completing the powerful cast, the lead stars were also joined by Ms. Anita Linda, Carmi Martin, K Brosas, Tony Mabesa, Gabe Mercado, Minnie Aguilar, Nor Domingo and child star Clarence Delgado.

John Lloyd and Bea during "The Mistress" Blogcon

Expect more striking, peculiar and phenomenal exchange of lines between the characters, Regina, The Wife played by Ms. Hilda Koronel; Rico, The Benefactor played by Ronaldo Valdez;  JD, The Lover played by John Lloyd and Sari, The Mistress played by Bea. Driven by their maturity, and by the demand of the story, this film is Bea and John Lloyd’s most daring role to date!

Watching the movie’s teaser, Bea was quoted as saying, “Walang babaing pinangarap maging kabit!”
So true, so real... but has it ever crossed your mind, why do these women still engage into a relationship where in fact they know very well that they don’t own and doesn’t have any right to the man they’ve fallen in love with? The only thing that these women can occupy is a little “space” in their man’s heart. Nevertheless, being in love doesn’t proved just and right if it’s considered illegal, stolen and unsolicited.
But no offense meant to anyone huh, this film doesn’t judge anyone. And you really can’t put all the blame on the mistress alone. It really takes two to tango. During the blog conference, Bea even shared what her mother used to tell her, “You cannot seduce a happy husband.” I couldn’t agree more with that! In this present and modern world, oftentimes, the so-called “straight” men are predominantly empowered by liberated and persistent women, agree?

“The Mistress” entails us a love story in different angles. This is not created to justify Sari’s means or any of her personal reasons. This film is made for us to realize and spend some thinking that, being in love doesn’t only include attraction, desire, risks and pain... we must not exclude that, apart from those feelings, there’s always a corresponding responsibility...and that all of us must face whatever consequences there might happen. But the good thing is... at the end of the day, we should never fail to anticipate that there’s always hope.

Never miss this one-of-a-kind love story! Showing in 200 theaters nationwide!

Please follow Star Cinema on twitter and log on to www.abs-cbn.com for more updates and details.

Let's watch and listen to what Bea has to say on
"Why married men still seek for other women?"

"Bwakaw:" Braving the "Hidden Truth" and Life's Reality

Watching “BWAKAW” is like threading the in depth meaning of life and finally realizing the "hidden truth" that's probably slapping your face since the day you can't even remember. At first I did not know what to expect as I was anticipating that the title referred to someone in the movie, maybe the lead star himself, as in this case portrayed by one of the country’s legendary actor, Mr. Eddie Garcia.

As an official entry to this year’s Cinemalaya, I find it interesting that it was going mainstream so this movie must have something special, I guess. :)) It was highly regarded in the filmfest, garnering Best Actor for Mr. Garcia.

Set in a rural countryside situation, this is a story about a grumpy old man known as Rene, who lives alone and is already awaiting and preparing for his death. For Godsake, he even bought a coffin already hehe.. He only has “bwakaw,"  a dog (Princess) as his companion and later turned best friend, which incidentally is also the title- roler in GMA Telebabad's fantasy-drama, "Aso ni San Roque." Life has no meaning for Rene, until certain twist and turn change his view.

After Bwakaw fell ill with a damning sickness, he came to realize that something in life is worth living for. He found true friendship with his dog. He even fell in love at an advance age and gave in to his true “innerself”. You just have to really watch out for those scenes, I tell you ;)

And most of all, this story has no miraculous ending thus it is a close resemblance to what actual life is here. Anybody can relate to some scenes that is happening in the story. A touching movie yet is also funny because of the comedy antics of some of its characters. Simple but true. Laughing yet teary eyed. These are some of the words best describe “Bwakaw”.

Also with the cast  are some distinguished actors and actresses, namely Rez Cortez, Beverly Salviejo, Soxie Topacio, Gardo Versoza, Allan Paule, Luz Valdez, Bibeth Orteza, Joey Paras, Soliman Cruz, and Miss Armida Siguion- Reyna. The film is directed by Jun Robles Lana and has dedicated his latest "masterpiece" to the late playwright and children's book author, Rene O. Villanueva, his mentor.

Rated A by the Cinema Evaluation Board and distributed by Star Cinema, this is a film that you may not want to miss. Catch it! Still showing in various theaters nationwide!

"The Reunion" : A story of friendship that we can relate to

Have you ever thought of going back to your past life, specifically your high school life and molded an idea of correcting your mistakes in order for you to move on with your present life? That same incident happened to the four youthful characters namely Boggs played by Enrique Gil; Joax for Xian Lim; Lloyd played by Enchong Dee and Pat portrayed by Kean Cipriano in Star Cinema's movie offering, the youth-oriented comedy film "The Reunion," directed by Frasco Santos Mortiz.

Direk Frasco is the son of veteran actor-director Edgar Mortiz and nephew of ABS-CBN president Charo Santos- Concio, he's been directing the kiddie tv program "Goin' Bulilit" for several years now and the gag show "Banana Split" for four years to date. As for the record, this will be his very first movie  directorial job and the same thing goes to "The Reunion" writer Ays de Guzman who admitted that he created this story based from the characters and experiences of his "real life" high school friends, who in return, upon learning of Ays' motive, only requested to be invited to the film's premiere night and wanted to have the chance to meet the whole cast, cute right? hihihi

The whole cast were very proud in claiming that this movie is a sort of their tribute to the famed local rock band "Eraserheads" or E-Heads as they've managed to correlate every selected song of E-Heads to their scenes (that's a huge challenge for them huh!). Kudos to everybody who had taken great effort in the success of this film.

I was being flanked by the very sexy Bangs Garcia and so cool Kean Cipriano ;))

Aside from the four young heartthrobs, they were also joined by equally young and beautiful actresses like Jessy Mendiola, one of "Walang Hanggan" teleserye stars Julia Montes, "Kung Akoy's Iiwan Mo" lead star Bangs Garcia and Megan Young with the special participation of the cosplay princess Alodia Gosiengfiao and the alluring Cristine Reyes. Matt Evans added fun in the story where he played Jay as their "gay" friend, and I commend him for his believable portrayal. :))

I still remember direk Frasco saying during the movie's blogcon (bloggers' conference), "Sana mag-enjoy lang kayo kasi po kami nag-enjoy kami nung ginawa namin 'yung pelikula, masaya lang po s'ya... breather s'ya dun sa lahat ng mga problema natin, 'yung mga nararanasan natin nitong mga nakaraang linggo... manood lang po tayo ng "The Reunion" para magkaroon naman ng ngiti sa ating mga mukha, enjoyin' n'yo po 'yung pelikula."

Direk Frasco Mortiz with Bangs Garcia and Kean Cipriano during "The Reunion" blogcon

The positive outcome and effect of the movie to the movie going public has only proven one thing... amidst the opening of various hollywood films like "Expendables 2" among others, "The Reunion" still surfaces and we can say this is proudly Pinoy made and direk Frasco was definitely right when he said that this movie will put a smile on our face. We did not only enjoy the whole movie, we also left the theater with hope and we were very much inspired to really appreciate our friends and the people we love. This is indeed a story of friendship that we can relate to.

"The Reunion" cast talked about their pasts... if you wanna know, well, better check this out peeps!

It's never too late to watch this film, I bet you'll all enjoy it!
Have a great laugh!

"The Healing" Movie : The freedom to choose... and life's consequences

Let us all admit, aside from consulting to different medical practitioners, engaging into various laboratory tests and going to the clinics or hospitals, Filipinos somehow, would really result into getting the services of an "albularyo" to perform "healing" sessions. In some ways or another, we also keep this "option" within us that sometimes we ask their help to do some rituals like "tawas" and other "healing-related" activities. I guess this is all part of the Filipino culture that we tend to believe and somehow establish faith to these so-called "faith healers." My question is, "Are we ready and aware of its consequences?"

I guess it's high-time that we get to witness and watch a new brand of suspense, horror and drama movie being brought to us by Star Cinema, entitled "The Healing." Incidentally, the said movie was graded A by the MTRCB and has granted it a double rating (R-13 and R-18); the first time to happen in the history of Philippine Cinema. This is also the first time that a very delicate theme like this was tackled in-depth in local film.

Still gorgeous as ever @36 :))

The "Star for all Seasons" and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, lead star of "The Healing" was so elated on the ratings they've received for the movie, she said direk Chito Rono really fought for that, so the moviegoers would have the freedom to choose between the two options. More choices, more audience will be captured. :)) Isn't it amazing?!

Gov. Vilma Santos (center) flanked by writer Roy C. Iglesias (left) and direk Chito S. Rono
during "The Healing" Bloggers conference held at ABS-CBN ELJ Bldg.

On the other hand, award-winning writer Mr. Roy C. Iglesias couldn't be happier when his story was approved since this was really tailored-made to the "Star for all Seasons." Gov. Vilma Santos have been hoping and dreaming for this kind of movie, she said, "I've been asking Chito for so long for something like this and I'm so glad that it's finally happening. With the undeniable top caliber of Star Cinema, Direk Chito, and our award-winning cast, how can I go wrong?"

The whole cast of "The Healing"

In honor of Vilma's 50th anniversary in showbiz, Star Cinema gathered an all-star highly acclaimed powerhouse cast composed of Kim Chiu, Janice de Belen, Mark Gil, Martin del Rosario, Allan Paule, Cris Villanueva, Daria Ramirez, Ces Quesada, Ynez Veneracion, Simon Ibarra, Abi Bautista, Joel Torre, Chinggoy Alonso, Mon Confiado, Carmi Martin and Pokwang! The legendary actress can only say nothing but high praises and flattering remarks about her co-stars who were equally professional and brilliant in their own crafts.

Gov. Vilma was very friendly and accommodating. She really made my day! Thanks so much and love u Gov.! Batangas is so "lucky" having someone like you! :))

Ate Vi, as she's fondly called before she became Lipa's Mayor for three consecutive elections and eventually got elected as Governor of Batangas in 2007, plays the role of Rosette Angeles, a very simple woman who's only prime motive is to help her family and friends suffering from ailments and various illnesses. Of all these changes and turn of events in their lives, what could possibly happen next?

Don't let all your curiosities ponder, have it answered! Do watch this newest masterpiece from the film master himself, direk Chito S. Roño, Vilma's very first ever suspense horror movie, "The Healing."

Please watch this video to enlighten you about the movie's double rating R-13 (censored version) and R-18 (director's cut) as Gov. Vilma Santos talks about it during their
Bloggers Conference.

Roy C. Iglesias, Gov. Vilma Santos and direk Chito S. Rono were all smiles after their "bonding" with the bloggers. :))

"BORN TO LOVE YOU" SURE HIT SA TAKILYA!

Sobrang nag-eenjoy ang stars ng "Born to Love You."

Coco Martin, Direk Jerome Pobocan and Angeline Quinto

Hihihi

Pogi talaga ni Papa Coco!

"Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang" haunts!

It's witching hour for Derek Ramsay and Erich Gonzales - and all of us.

Taking time out from the romance trail, Derek  and Erich essay a drama-thriller in their first team-up in Star Cinema's "Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang," showing in more than 100 theaters nationwide!

Written and directed by Richard Somes, "Aswang" qualifies as a post-Valentine love story because it's about a loving couple whose love for each other survives the biggest trials confronting them.
Erich plays the character Corazon whose otherwise peaceful life in a small town is shattered by a crime that brings back her tragic memory of World War II.

Derek plays Daniel, Corazon's husband, whose obsession in life is to sire a child with Corazon. Having a baby is the only important thing Corazon wants in life, but she and Daniel have been unsuccessful in having one even if they've been married for five years.

Erich Gonzales as Corazon

Derek Ramsay as Daniel

The death of Corazon's father prompted the townspeople to hurt insults at Corazon's about her past, forcing her and Daniel to transfer to another town where they seek the help of a woman in their desire to have a baby. Wish granted. But the baby comes out stillborn. Corazon and Daniel's world is shattered. Will love sustain them... help them survive the new trial?

The question: Will her love for Daniel  and her rage at what happened take Corazon?

That, and what happened to Corazon during World War II will be revealed at the end of the movie.

"UNOFFICIALLY YOURS" IS TRENDING OFFICIALLY!!!

People are always talking about “status,” whenever, wherever, everywhere and anywhere. Turning the focus on social media networks, it’s always the posted or shared “status” of a particular person that is most of the time, discussed, argued, well-commented and generates reactions from various groups.
But getting more hooked by it, how would you state your present relationship status? And that question was brought up and was directly answered by the cast of Star Cinema’s Valentine offering, “Unofficially Yours,” starring John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin, showing today, February 15.

Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina hoped to be “In a relationship,” mode but still has no “Valentino” for her, while John Lloyd claimed that he is “In a relationship” as everyone expected and it’s “official,” with no other than, Shaina Magdayao; meanwhile, the microphone had finally reached Angel’s end, and she was all blushing and dumbfounded at first, while JL (John Lloyd) who was seated beside the gorgeous actress, teasing her. At last, Angel had managed to answer and she uttered it’s “unofficial.” A follow-up question was again, poked to the rumored girlfriend of Azkal football team star player, Phil Younghusband - if she’s happy being in an “unofficial” relationship.

Direk Cathy talking about her "status" while being watched by John Lloyd and Angel during "Unofficially Yours" presscon

John Lloyd on his status: "In a Relationship"

Angel Locsin on her status: "It's Unofficial"

Angel with Phil (photo credit: jejermons.info)

The star of “Unofficially Yours” who plays Princess “Ces” Bricenio in the story, a lifestyle senior reporter, grinned and replied, “yes.” She thinks that it’s not the “status” that really matters, according to her, what is important is the love and respect that they have for each other. I guess basing from Angel’s gestures and aura, she is indeed happy; it really reflects I suppose.

On the other hand, John Lloyd who plays Mackie Galvez, a practicing dentist and an upcoming blogger who gets an offer to write for a major broadsheet in the story, couldn’t agree more with what her leading lady has stated, he said, as long as they’re both happy and secured with their (Angel and Phil) feelings, that alone can surpass almost everything.

Ever since I’ve heard about direk Cathy Garcia-Molina and seen her projects, I’ve been an avid fan of her; I am so fascinated by her works and her personality per se. This is the first time for her and Angel to work together, whereas this film is JL and Angel’s first big screen project after their “Imortal” teleserye.

I’ve learned that Angel was so surprisingly daring in this movie, with the movie’s theme, we could expect “hot” love scenes from the two leading stars.

And when JL was asked, what can he say about Angel’s body, Angel was so hideous in saying, “Patay tayo diyan” hehehe :-)

The mood was so light and joyous that afternoon and John Lloyd’s comment was “Ang masasabi ko sa katawan ni Angel, sobrang sexy!”

Then when Angel’s turn to rate JL’s body, the latter demanded that he should be rated from 1-10, with 10 being the highest, Angel jokingly answered, “Okay, I’ll give you 10, 10 out of 100 hahaha.” But Angel was so quick in following up by saying she gives JL a perfect 10 - that scenario really brought the house down, actually.

Angel to John Lloyd: "I'll give you 10, 10 out of 100!" :-))

Looks like JL was feeling "kilig much" inside hehe

Direk Cathy discloses, “It’s still a love story! Iba man ang paraan ng pagkukuwento namin dito, at the end of the day, it still talks about love, it talks about how beautiful love is! How better it is to love than not having love at all!” Awww, I love you direk, I can see myself in you. ;)

I know for myself that, there’s really something to find out and expect for from this movie, I’d like to prove that after watching this movie, anybody who’s into the “unofficial” status, would finally decide and declare that their relationship will be finally confirmed as “official!” Why not? It’s an amazing world, after all.

Here's the FULL TRAILER of "UNOFFICIALLY YOURS"
